There's a group of us that play at the moondog meadery. I think they meet during Tuesday working hours, but I play on Sundays every other week.
I think the other group I joined is full, but there's also a group that meets at the gathering place in chapel hill.

No, my idea of freestyle is basically how my body wants to move to the music, which can vary depending on the song.
BalancedCuriosity
I use that website, but the freestyle I like to do is hard to find mon-wed generally. I think club era is a good idea of where I might freestyle.

Thank you! I'm hoping to find something good, as it turns out I might be able to afford a studio at 850$ so I'm trying to get a tour set up for that. It would be really nice to have my own space (so I can cry somewhere other than my car) just kidding, there were some tears but mostly I haven't been able to eat anything. I'm trying to look at the positive side of that, losing a bit of weight!
There's so many scams out there too. I found two so far.

Thank you that's very helpful!

The problem wasn't how we live together, but that he thinks there's someone out there (for both of us) who we will have more in common with and be happier with. Not that I'm unpleasant to date.
I'm more interested in learning about pitfalls I should watch out for, and any tips to going about getting a room. I know I'd like to be able to have friends over if possible for example, but what does that mean in a shared space? Obviously communicate is the number 1 answer, but there could be things idk. I'd rather ask to see if I learn anything.
BalancedCuriosity
Yeah, I found some right after I posted.

I kinda like the 'let the keyboard auto fill the rest of this sentence' type stuff, but that IS ironic. It's been a day since the breakup and I'm not really in a great place right now. I thought that guy would be husband. But he wants to find something better. Believes we could both find someone more suitable. All I know is I need to get my own place lined up. Living together for several months doesn't sound fun.
BalancedCuriosity
Same. Can't understand celebrity crushes for that reason, though I can start to like a character they play.

Managing is different than caring about.
As you notice, in terms of helping or managing, I suggest professional therapy as a solution.
My own mother went through this and ended up committing herself as she was having suicidal thoughts. Leaving my brother and I uncertain if she was coming back at all unfortunately. She did, spoiler, but throughout the process of her dealing with all that, I cared about it even if I did not agree with how she dealt with it.
BalancedCuriosity
This doesn't seem real, but yta.
Maybe it seems like over dramatics to you, but how would you feel if she did kill herself?
Would you care?
Honestly it can take a lot longer to properly grieve and move on from abuse than 4 weeks.
To address potential solutions- that don't rely on your bandwidth, but are actually focused on helping your mom rather than if you suck for not caring- look into telehealth therapy or other forms of therapy. Even finding support programs for domestic abuse victims in group settings so she has people she can talk to about these things that's not you.

Lol none of the people talking about the adult child's happiness mention the parents quality of life, or exactly what that happiness costs overall from the community around them.
I think it's a very privileged position to be able to support and maintain adult children's happiness, and that it shouldn't be expected of anyone. I think it's a choice, and one that should be made by the parties involved. It's definitely inspiring to see people do it.
That said, I don't agree that people should just suck it up when an adult child has a tantrum and assaults someone in public who is not in any way associated with them. I've seen it. I think some people don't quite protect others from their adult children, after deciding to have them (if they got the choice). As much as they should no better, it happens.
I worked with special needs in a horticulture setting, and in that case you accept the risks. Bringing your adult child to walk around downtown who then starts grabbing and bruising random people is different.
I think it's very complex. My partner and I even have differing views. All I know is that they deserve as much support as they can get, but not bringing them into the world is also a respectable decision.

Thanks!!
