this is why PLA is one of my favorite games. Years later and there's still tons of new things to learn, speedrunners are still learning new fastest routes, there's just so much going on in this game. It's great
BassGould
It takes 3 different invites lmao that’s kind of ridiculous
BassGould
Even worse, why don’t my potions just auto refill at least when I enter the tent or base camp. Don’t change my loadout, just set my potions back up to 10/10, and maybe ammo too. Save me the 2 minutes and I don’t care if you fix the UI tbh.
BassGould
No it’s worse than that, on PC they ARE separate buttons, (M for map, hold Y to dismiss) except when you have a notification your map button is disabled ANYWAYS. It’s not an overlapping button issue, it’s intentional design.
BassGould
Well id imagine if your logigng out and in repeatedly id imagine it would, but one or two shards of players moving to another shard should probably not kill the backend? Im no programing expert, but it doesn't work that way for really any other server system, so I cant imagine why it would for SC, unless the spaghetti code is just that bad, which may well be the case.
BassGould
Honestly maintenance every 3 days would be huge for server degradation, maybe do each region on a different day, and it won't even interfere significantly with anyone's playtime. They can just server hop to another region for that day.
BassGould
I genuinely wouldn't put it past them, lol
In all seriousness though with the amount of tedium and general bad game design, I would be surprised if they chose bad game design for "immersion" like in final product having NPCS physically there loading your ship during auto load in real-time, that will bug out or get attacked by griefers just to mess with you.
BassGould
It's not pirating, it's griefing. Exploiting a bug to kill a player you otherwise would not have been able to kill is against TOS. Just because he then stole from the person after he griefed him, doesn't mean what he did really falls into a different gameplay loop. He didn't follow the pirate gameplay loop, he followed the griefing gameplay loop.

is it just me or does everyone seem to be really, really defending the fortune, even though it is just worse? it should have a size 2 head, (IIRC that's slightly slower than 2xS1) and maybe 25-32 on the buffer, and call it a day. That would make it roughly even to the Vulture, but as it stands, its the same price for a ship that is just worse in every way.

I was the same way, i joined during a free flight a few years back to try it out, i think during 3.11 or something when there was a really bad bug that caused bed logging to just never work, on top of all the other bugs. I didn't know the state of the game at the time, so I expected it to just work, I mean, it had been in production for 10 years, something as fundamental as logging off and back on should work right? Well logs in a row, I kept ending up back at new babbage, my ship needing a claim. I had no clue what to do, so I gave up, and there went any chance for the game to get my money.
Until this Christmas when i was so bored out of my mind as I've been recovering from a surgery and on leave that I had nothing left to do. Knowing the state of the game, I still found 3.24 completely unplayable due to bugs constantly making things impossible for me, but as i was ready to give and refund, i decided to give 4.0 a chance, and here we are, with me still playing, and loving it.
Still doesn't excuse CIG from the fact that they should have gotten most of these half decade old bugs, or older, squashed a long time ago. And they can log on to patch out insurance fraud instantly in a hotfix, but another, much worse, game breaking bug in NB's hangars not opening can't be hotfixed? It feels like they don't care.
BassGould
Not being able to drink water once and a while is not game breaking. Not getting any contracts, and crashing every 30 minutes is. After 10 years, and being the second most funded game of all time, second only to genshin impact of all games, we need to stop making excuses for cig. there is no excuse for bugs to stay in game for 5+ years. absolutely no excuse. especially when they go ahead and patch out dupe bugs immediately on a hotfix but cant patch out an elevator button being broken, or ASOP terminals endlessly thinking, or new babbage doors not opening so you cant even leave the station. Stop making excuses for the second most funded game on a decades long dev cycle.
BassGould
i just had them in 4.0 ptu, but i also am cursed to have all the hidden bugs in any game, but none of the game breaking ones, so its possible they may not be as common for others as they are for me (which is always)
BassGould
turrets can be bugged to be invulnerable, I've tried many times to destroy them only for them to never pop, so i land, go in on foot, and they still never pop.
BassGould
its crazy that i had to scroll this far down to find a comment saying this. I was frustrated by a bug today where I logged in, began flying to pyro gateway, and got kicked out of my ship mid warp. i decided to time how long it would take me to get back to where i was approximately, so back to main menu to get ported back to station, and timer starts. 18 minutes from station back to quantum travel, with an expedited claim, and that's when I realized that the game just doesn't respect me or my time as a person. At the very least, until 1.0 i don't see why insurance isn't instant, because that would have cut down 4 minutes, but its still far too long of a recovery time from a bug in a game they know is buggy.
BassGould
Playable isn't subjective, it means that you can play the game without regular and frequent game breaking bugs and crashes. We don't expect the game to be perfect, we don't expect peak performance, but we expect to be able to play the game without spending (I timed it) 20 minutes from random game breaking bug back to being able to play every 30 minutes. 10 minutes of gameplay for every 30 minutes of our lives in the second most funded game that is approaching a decade and a half of development is unacceptable.
BassGould
Release cycle should really have been one live stable patch and one PTU patch with the new buggy features, then they release the PTU when they sort the bugs out, kind of like what it seems they're gonna do with 4.0. No clue why it hasn't always been done this way.
BassGould
I willargue that what you we do have, is a bugged to hell Elite Dangerous. If they fixed the bugs, it would be E:D but with like 30x the ships, and no exploration. The idea that it isn't releasable is a bit crazy, when Elite has been out almost the same amount of time that Star Citizen has been, and the fans of that game don't (mostly) complain "this game lacks content" they just complain that there's no new ships lol
BassGould
I know I'm late, but for the people coming across this here is some relevant info;
i've done it as low as level 30 on very hard, although that was before 2.0, combat is less forgiving now, but you kill enemies faster, probably still doable.
The second heart implant is bugged, switch it out if you have it, it will just game over you if you fall to 0, even though it activates.
The game seems to have some weird formula for health calculation because I removed my perk points from the netrunner tree when i swapped off a cyberdeck and lost 200 health even though none of the perks that I had affected HP, so I have no clue how they get 900 hp because at level 60 I have 300 and get one tapped by everything as it is.
Immediate edit: quick google search makes it seem like edgerunner perk is bugged and causes permanent HP decreases so that may be both of our problems lmao. I went straight for it and constantly kept going over my cyberwar limit, which may explain why I have the health of a level 1 character at max level.

She didn’t try to sexually assault him, she did sexually assault him. She tried to rape him, and legally speaking may have succeeded.
BassGould
Yeah, and the vocals are important, although I do like that song but it doesn’t quite fit the vibe I’m looking for. Looking more for something almost exactly like the opening of Raphael’s Final Act.
BassGould
Is this the European version of rickroll lmao
Sho Shia isn’t hard, it’s tedious and annoying, and most importantly unfun. I fought it 3 times in low rank (on the 3 save slots) and fighting it for the first time on my high rank character, I was 30 minutes into the fight when I finally carted, and I just closed the game. I was fucking bored of this endless fight where I had not a single ounce of fun. The boss isn’t hard, it’s just not fun.
