60 here. First mile is a slog. Strength training has helped me tons though. Highly recommend.

I ran American River 50 miler there 10 years ago. Beautiful area.

Will be very cold. May be snowed/iced in. Crampons+ice axe highly recommended. Days are shorter at that time so you won't get a lot of daylight, even if you do an alpine start (midnight or 1AM).

I run that trail from the Mill Creek fire station to Pacifico regularly. It's in great shape. I often see Subarus, Jeepers and lifted trucks. The top of the road near the summit is a bit rutted near the campground but still in good shape. Use common sense and you'll be fine.
