I'm not a professional embedded dev, but I picked attiny3226's for various recent projects because it has excellent low-power draw and sleep modes.
I could power the chip with a coin cell and the cell chemistry would fail before the power is used.

The video says the output is 4kW, and it has pitch control to get optimal power in a range of wind speeds.

Hey, I'm the speaker 👋 Thanks again to the organisers!
I'm always keen to talk about modelling and design, and I'm around on the Ash Discord if anyone wants to discuss the ideas here. Or if you're solving this in a cool way, I'd love to hear.

Looks awesome! Has the warehouse sound / sets been different from the mainline ABGT and recent 700 stuff?

Kudos for trying, and hopefully you will learn a lot. Please be careful to guard your own time and self-worth though.
Cheap hustlers are the worst, stupidest, most harmful clients in the world. They aren’t satisfied until they drag everyone down with them. You can still learn, but be careful!

No, sorry. “It’s ugly” paired with “it hurts my head just looking at it” means “asshole”, not “being direct”.

It’s quite basic. Sharpie goes down really nicely on poly, so:
- 2 coats poly (wipe on water based)
- ruler and fresh sharpie, I used two for a 19x19. Carefully measure out the grid and put tiny pencil dots or something to mark out.
- draw the lines, keeping steady pressure. Try on some scraps to get the hang of it. I like to the clean the ruler every couple of lines with some paper towels and alcohol spray
- any accidents can be removed with cotton buds and alcohol
- 2 more coats of poly on the top

FYI, I've made several gobans as a hobbyist woodworker. Not 100% authentic technique, but very nice floor and table boards that look very authentic. My favourite method for marking the lines involves 2 coats of polyurethane, a sharpie marker and a ruler. Then 2 more coats. It's fiddly and slow, but it's easy. My first board looked great, and it's been repeatable.
I wouldn't expect it to work as well with oiled surface, and you may want to stay 100% authentic.
(And fwiw, embrace wabi-sabi and enjoy the character of the board. I play with beautiful clamshell stones, that are old and yellow and chipped, and I love them).

The posted video is CGI/AI, not a real demo of walking

This is incredible, nice work!

One of the reasons that local is best is that it indicates which species do well in your area, local humidity, environment etc.

Oh god, I can't. Last time I posted, I nearly got burned alive 😅

Mental colours, but I love it. Please double-check if your specific panels can be painted, and how. If you do it wrong you'll reduce how well they work.

Then this isn't an AI problem that you have, this is a general engineering / team problem wrapped in a new skin. People have been asking for decades how to deal with colleagues or bosses who don't promote good practices.
Or as others are saying: use the new tools to adapt your approach. Add better review harnesses, more rules / guidance for agents, metrics for PR quality, etc.
Bavoon
In our team we are _ruthless_ about cutting out the extra fluff. I can't even imagine approving something with extra stuff in it just because AI added it the first time.
Now, it's even easier than before. I can have a PR that I think "this should really be 3 small stacked PRs each focussing on one thing... but I don't have time". Now that's just a click.
Change your prompts/harnesses/loops to generate tiny clean changes, stack things more, and adjust culture to not accept fluff.

If it were UK, I’d pay £200 for the pallet. This is useful for jigs, small items, etc.

It’s worth noting that the UJK is not a strict copy and is actually improved - you get the vacuum clamping AND a threaded insert so normal dogs can be screwed into the vacuum dog.
IMO patents should protect significant innovation (as is their legal intent), not product ideas. I work as a developer and software patents on good ideas, which are not novel, are a cancer in this industry.
Vacuum holding is old tech, and putting it in dog format is not significant.
The actual products are different, no design was copied, no production methods are taken, it’s just a different team doing the same idea and doing it in a different way. Thats good, generally, for the world.
I do agree thats it’s hard to see a smaller company get competed against by a bigger company, I also feel for the vacudog folks.
Edit: this is also making a MASSIVE assumption that vacudogs were first. I would be surprised if no-one else hasn’t already built vacuum dogs before them too (in which case obviously they shouldn’t have the patent).

It’s fine in the UK, where OP is, to be close to the boundary if it’s under 2.5m total height.

Camera / film shops are likely to have them too. I ordered from Jessops online but noticed they had stock in all their stores too.

I really hated OLED for work, FYI. I bought a similar ultrawide OLED, returned it for an IPS after a few weeks.
Before you reject the gift, make sure you’ve tried the OLED one for non-gaming.
Bavoon
No, works fine for coding. I know there was some release text that mentioned it might switch - doesn’t seem to happening for me.
Bavoon
Derp, of course! Sorry.
The 30 - 70 relationship jumped out at me and short circuited everything else 😬

That’s accurate (if simplified) to real physics. Kinetic energy is proportional to the square of speed. So a 1.3x increase in speed is 1.69x increase in the energy imparted to the slug.
(There are various other factors in the real world of course, but I’m guess this simple square law is what’s driving the factorio calculation)

I haven't got tonnes of experience with open-weights in the last year, but around June 2025 the open ones were all much the same for Elixir in my experience.
The closed ones (I prefer Claude) are all the same and excellent with elixir, no issues at all. There are some convention things that we have in styleguides + checks, and I almost never have to correct elixir approach. I spend all my time on architecture / domain modelling and product decisions, instead of correcting lower level elixir/OTP.
I've noticed all the models I've ever tried veer towards "fancy" code and I have to occasionally bring things back to simpler more robust ideas, with fewer features, smaller function signatures, etc. But that's it.
Allow me to add my thanks to the list. I started my career as an indy game dev, moving into startups and more traditional software engineering. Factorio is an inspiration in every way.
I have _never_ seen more care and attention to detail than I've seen in this game. Its a masterclass in mechanics, design, fun, interaction, polish, engineering, debugging, community management, on and on.
You deserve everything you've earned, and I wish amazing things for you on whatever comes next.
