I bought a Canon AE-1 as my first. Camera and 50mm lens was around $140USD including postage from Japan. Film and development costs add up quickly though.

I’m very happy with the output from the camera, I feel like I got lucky getting one in such good condition.

There are a few cheaper options in point and shoot if you don’t feel comfortable with a mostly manual camera (focus takes a bit to get used to)

I’ve commented some images from what I have got out of it so far, shot on Kodak gold, ultra max, and Fuji 400.

I’ve been spoiled. My local film lab has scans back in just over an hour. It isn’t cheap… but they are nice scans and the turnaround is insanely quick

It’s a lot of fun, but damn I’m tired. We’re at the age now where I get a big smile and super excited when I get home from work. it’s worth the lack of sleep.

Yes the baby has indeed finished cooking!

The G6 instant works really quite well, audio detections are great, video quality is good, night vision is also great.

The video feed has adaptive framerate I’ve noticed, so it takes up less space on the NVR if it doesn’t detect motion. FOV is pretty good too, can get almost the whole bassinet from reasonably close.

So far we have just been having the camera feed on a small screen under the TV whilst the baby is sleeping.

Cry detection works well, but it turns out that babies are quite noisy sleepers and it triggered whilst she was still asleep. Maybe in a few months once proper sleep cycles come through we can rely on that again. We also turned off motion events as it was clogging up the events tab in the protect app.

If you need to move the camera, it’ll reconnect in about a minute after plugging in.

We did have to get a flexible arm clip mount for mounting from aliexpress.

Overall it’s kinda been a set and forget camera, no issues at all.

It’s been a wild 6 months, the learning curve for being a parent is steep!! But the camera has been solid.

I’ve also never encountered this but and have played through multiple times. As others have said, delete, clear cache and reinstall. A new save isn’t the end of the world either, you aren’t too far in

1:59 is when the last save was. When you entered the control room. Unfortunately not quick enough

I just did my riding course and that remembering to down shift is a pain. So many things to remember during an emergency stop. I’m sure it will become second nature eventually, but it took me a few gos to get it right for the course
