To answer this week's question: I started with very basic gear and I'm still upgrading it.
Hi all. I'm a CODA and I've interpreted for about 15 years. My channel, Beyond the Headline, takes one news story and explains it fully in ASL, with captions on everything. Most news either has no interpreter or squeezes a big money story into a tiny box in the corner, so I wanted something Deaf viewers could actually watch start to finish.
This week's video is why the Fed raised interest rates and how that climbs from bank-to-bank loans all the way up to your car loan and mortgage: https://youtu.be/hCeMlvfNzrQ
I'm still learning the YouTube side. Thumbnails and the first 10 seconds are my weak spots, so I'm happy to hear thoughts on those.

Hobby/project: I explain economic news in sign language (ASL) with English captions. The newest one covers how US Fed rate hikes ripple out: a stronger dollar, pricier imports, costlier dollar loans. https://youtu.be/hCeMlvfNzrQ

I make sign-language news explainers (ASL, with English captions). Latest: what a US Fed rate hike means. It also moves the dollar, which affects the cedi and import prices. https://youtu.be/hCeMlvfNzrQ. Feedback from Ghanaian signers very welcome!
Thank you, well said. EARNING STAY FREEZE, COSTS ALL-OVER INCREASE. That's exactly the squeeze people feel, and the part the headlines usually skip.
