I‘ve to admit, that I just donate to Wikipedia. Probably, because I don‘t know a monetarization modell for Wikipedia, while I love the project and its free access to shared Knowledge. That said, I love Linux too and try to contribute to the open source community in the one or other way. But I think/hope that all the distribution manufactors have any kind of paid service to keep their jobs up and kicking. Though I’ve to admit I didn‘t ever make a lot of thoughts about it.

I am working in a forensics sector, so I use Kali too. But the software we develop is for windows, so we are not developing in Kali. We just use severals apps you find there.

But basically I don‘t see reasons to highlight Kali as a Don‘t, while there are thousands other Distributions, which could be mentioned. So I asked to find out if you know a reason, I am not aware of.

I would rather say Knoppix, OpenWrt or Alpine are Donts due to obvious reasons. But its hard for me to highlight a recommendation.

why not Kali?

if i‘ld be a single, I agree. But I doubt my wife is accepting such a pro concept nor my 3y old son could handle it. As the admin of our smart home, I‘ld never know if I have an outage or a guest, pressed the wrong switch.
