The setup only happen once. Both harness can use the same workspace and actually work together by freezing files while working on them. They just need to share the same workflow

Nice. We need that quick

I burned throught the $2500 worth of credits they gave legacy $200 subs in a day. You can bet if they gave me 10x more I'd still run out and hit my limits within the week.
Limits are a joke to you. How much money do you want to be handed while reserving yourself the right to complain for the fraction you're putting on the table 😂
Bitter_Virus
Try
Bitter_Virus
They halved limits because they know the next model will be a big one and they need all that compute if they don't want their datacenter to melt away

Use an image and ask it to reproduce it as a UI, whenever you want changes, edit them in the image editor and tell Chatgpt to reproduce it 1:1

Ya, this is what people are experiencing recently.
The real value of each $ is difficult to pin point because it require many different benchmark and taking in account other elements that are unavailable like free usage for some services but generally, right now, we get more usage with Claude

I disagree. We know the % of difference in token efficiency between 2 different models. After normalizing their API price, we adjust for how less tokens one model use to achieve the same task, and it's not enough to make them similar. Except for the Astra to Fable comparison
Bitter_Virus
Nicely put. I can only agree with this stance.
I do wish they didn't use that title as it seems only true with some models and not others and so we could also say it seems untrue with some and not others. I say this without wanting to make one appear more true than the other by mentioning one before the other.
And I wish they did this last test of cost per standardized tasks, finds the ratio and normalise the graph.
Although it all get muddy in the end anyways when we account for free chat usage, desktop tokens vs online interface, temporary dot/astra-light not being charged. Ask this being tested without a proper agents.md which in my case have a big influence on the results
Bitter_Virus
Fair enough, to their point I believe their targeted customers are API users so they may not care about what subscribers do and their tasks. In this sense, the API cost supercede what we're able to get done just because of the number of token included in the higher limits, regardless of which model is more efficient.
I'm still not sure about the misleading bit because they never once claim to say something that is not, except let's say when we first read the title and don't know they tell us themselves they base their judgment on API pricing.
If the misleading bit - which is supposed to be a consequence of one's action - depend on our own subjective opinion, then we are accountable for that because we disregard theirs.
I think we can agree they could have should have and didn't do the last comparison that matter here, but when reading the article we understand that they don't claim to have or draw conclusions based on its implied result. They just didn't do it so, I'm not going to act as if they did talk about it when they dont
Bitter_Virus
I found the article, move past the clickbait title that maybe got the OP; they do exolain the dynamic of a lab reducing the api cost of a model while retaining the same amount of tokens included in the subscription, making it seem like the value offered is reduced, to the disadvantage of Openai.
Looking at astra vs fable, the value seem to be exactly the same as $, but like we know, the real value is in what workload we can get done anyways

Ya they have no way to know it's one graph out of ~20 and they're probably not stupid lol but anyways they should know better 😱

Bitter_Virus
You're wrong bud, The right answer to OP is "yes it is what it says it is, and no it's not what you think it is" it's written all over the place what it is and it doesn't say anything else. Implying that it represent something else than what the text say it represent is bad faith and you need to return to your favorite silicone deity. To accurately demonstrate what you're saying it misleadingly represent, we need one or two other graphs and guess what? They made those graphs. The authors of the analysis are on point and have been historically super accurate. Sorry you can't see that and keep assuming stuff the graph isn't saying. I guess not your fault because OP didn't include the other graphs and his question imply what you subsequently imply as well so it's like a sheep following another ya know. The info is available for free.
Bitter_Virus
This graph is perfect for only what it show. To measure actual usage, it can't do it on its own. For that we have to check the other graphs in this analysis, which allow us to find the ratio necessary to calculate real usage
Bitter_Virus
Any time a model become cheaper, its API value decrease right so it did make it seem like Openai is offering less compared to Anthropic because the number of total tokens they offer doesn't usually change while they're models may be half as expensive on API pricing
Just because of the price of Opus 5.5 vs Sol 6.1, we know the real answer is somewhere between double Openai's API value or half Anthropic's API value, but even when we do this, the remaining number show Anthropic offer more than double de value with Opus and Sonnet (not with Fable, where Astra then offer more value)
Then we can check how efficient three model is with how many tokens they output for the same task. This measurement is less dramatic and not enough to close the gap
The gap may become less then double Openai varying based on workload, but even then today Anthropic still offer more value, with a better model
Bitter_Virus
Well thanks for stating the obvious ???

Bel is their only 10T model and has never been released. Astra is much smaller than that
