The best ad reads of all time are done by Map Men, I will take no further questions.

The Labor and Liberal parties are the reason people don’t like parties. It makes it frustrating, as a member of the Greens, to see a politician like Pocock come along who has all the same policies as us, be lauded for _not_ being a member of a party.

Simon Clark - obviously in a Europe or UK based one so he doesn’t have to fly anywhere.
Also Rollie Williams would be fun too. Great sense of humour. And I think for both of those creators being exposed to the JetLag audience would be great.
Abigail Thorn as well would be fantastic.
And of course: you. You would be great, yes you, random Redditor reading this.

Tasmania has lower house prices, and similar rents to Sydney and Melbourne. But much much lower salaries and higher unemployment, which leads to a higher cost of living compared to other cities.

Get an app that shows you how much light each house gets in the middle of winter.

Is she going to remove the one where Bluey runs over Dan Andrews and Albo?

Really love where you’re coming at from this!
When I started off in the movement I said very similar things. “Why don’t you just…” and they always come from a good place!
The answer is generally: either we’re already doing it, or, we’ve tried and it doesn’t work because of xyz.
This is a problem we have with our members as well. When we do our post election reports, we get a lot of feedback from members about what and how we should campaign next time.
A good example is educating people about preferential voting. We have tried doing this for decades at this point - it doesn’t work. But our members keep saying that’s the secret sauce to pushing our vote up, because they often don’t know that we’ve tried.
Don’t let this deter you of course! It’s definitely possible that coming from the outside you have some ideas we haven’t considered before. But Reddit is not the best place to push those - instead, get involved in a campaign, learn how we do things, chat to campaign organisers, go doorknocking and see what works.
Good luck!

This sounds like a line from Chernobyl.

I came here to make this joke, and was beaten to it.
BleepBloopNo9
Here’s the problem… there’s at least one line in each one of those videos which is genuinely funny.
Angus Taylor: You should see all the terrible things they’re saying about me, online.
Albo: Really?
AT: …. No. No one’s talking about me.
(Full disclosure: I am against everything Hanson stands for.)

All good reasons.
I’ve said to a lot of people who have said “I like the Greens but..” is that the best way to influence and engage is from within the party. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not definite, but we actually do have a process and are open to new ideas, and policy comes from the members more than it does in Labor, where the party room can overrule conference.
BleepBloopNo9
Oh absolutely.
The last fifty years have seen a lot of social progression. At the same time there’s been a lot of economic regression.
Cursing one does not mean celebrating the other. :)

Bearing in mind that Labor only just made the tax changes that Bob Brown was agitating for when he was in parliament twenty years ago.
Yes, Labor is better. But.
BleepBloopNo9
Why would you hurt us like this.
BleepBloopNo9
Unfortunately the government can’t be no confidences from the Legislative Council.
BleepBloopNo9
My take is that this is the Australian Greens position re conflict, which hasn’t been updated properly in a while, and which the party is going to urgently update soon.

That gentleman is a member of the Young Liberals 😅

One of her recent posts named several of the other councillors who are running as candidates, which is also a violation of the Tasmanian Electoral Act. I wonder if she’s given up remaining in council and is trying to paint herself as a victim for the One Nation ticket in state or federal.

She lives in West Hobart. She works remotely. She used to work at UTAS. The coffee shop is in Richmond - about a half hour drive away, outside the city.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m sure she has reason to be there for something consistently. But it’s not her “local”.

She committed the heinous crime of consuming complimentary snacks offsite instead of onsite. Which she then offered to pay back in full.

So good news: it’s actually quite easy to find where the policy is based on, and work to change it. Unlike Labor, if there’s a policy like this a majority of Greens members disagree with, it’s fairly easy for the membership to amend it.
