By a very fortuitous coincidence, I've just resigned my current job to start a new one. I was going to make Friday 2nd my last day, but as there's a train strike in the UK on that day I've made Thursday my last day. Which means I'm technically unemployed for 72 hours, which I intend to spend as a useless layabout playing games all weekend 🙂

Replaying Arkham Asylum for the first time in years. The atmosphere is still incredible, but it's surprising how clunky the gameplay is compared to the later games. Rose-tinted glasses are a hell of a thing.

Giving it the big thumbs up?

It's probably worth opening them when you get them. You can extract the effects of any legendaries you get to reuse later. So low-level legendaries are more use than they were in earlier games.

Can you map movement to the thumbstick, but still use the mouse for attack/aiming? The idea sounds nice to me, turning it into a twin stick shooter almost, but I somehow doubt it will work that way.

I was going to get the KFC promotion. But when I called and told them I was a member of the ATC, they apologised and said that they were all out of roast pheasant with a red wine jus. Of course, as a member of the ATC I couldn't settle for anything less, so i passed.

My headcanon is that individual timelords have broad parameters that influence the form they take after regeneration. Some may be usually or always a specific gender or skin colour, others may have broader parameters and switch genders and/or ethnicities as they go.

The Doctors parameters were originally "male and pale", but when he was given a new set of regenerations the parameters were reset. The first of he new incarnations was a white man, but that was a coincidence, from now on s/he can be anything.

I know this doesn't fit with the Timeless Child gubbins, but I came up with it before that, and I still like it.

For me the issue is that it doesn't look like a spaceship, or like the Doctors home. It looks like a stage set.
