What really puts those numbers into context is that most of the covid variants averaged around... 3. Measles is freaky shit.

I don't think this comic is AI, this artist's style is pretty recognisable and they've been around for years. Honestly, I think AI probably learnt a lot from this artist.

Measles is also incredibly contagious, so the chance of an outbreak spreading to enough people that at least one of them gets these rare horrible side effects is really high. It's been basically completely forgotten now we have routine vaccines, but measles used to be one of the main causes of childhood deafness.

I do wonder why they decided to gamble on something like this instead of just throwing out another iphone pro max super revision, I guess the interest in their identical slabs of metal and glass has finally waned to a point that the shareholders are unhappy.

If you poke them, does it feel like a sore muscle? Frontalis muscle cramps are a big cause of headaches. I've never seen something like this before though, and I've had a lot of headaches.

It's usually so they can keep track of any biases in the application process. If a college or employer finds out that they have less people from [insert category here] than the national average, they have to look and see if people from [insert category here] are just less likely to apply, or if they are applying but are less likely to get accepted. For most places you can legally put "prefer not to say" if you're worried about what they could do with the information, but it's just intended for some number cruncher to look at years from now.

I love the jaggedness principle!

But also there's definitely gotta be at least a handful of Mohammed Zhangs out there, I don't know how frequent naming your kids mohammed is among chinese muslims but there's enough that there must be some.

A big reason he got so much flak was that his music was really popular with younger teen girls, and making fun of things teenage girls liked was a huge thing back then. See also, the twilight movies.

I went down a rabbit hole over the exact definition of grooming, and most places it specifically refers to manipulating a young person or vunerable adult. I guess if the manipulation was going on for a (very) long time it could count as grooming but probably not in this situation, just regular creepy bosses abusing their power.

UK politics might be a hot mess at the moment, but during every election you get to watch a livestream of old people speed counting ballots and that is quite fun. A couple of really suburban constituencies have started making a race out of it, it's always fun to see which one is going to declare first and when.

It's a consent thing, if it's not going to benefit the child's health/social life and is purely a cosmetic thing it can wait until they're old enough to give informed consent.

Yeah, I've never seen a DNA test give a percentage chance for something like siblings because it's pretty straightforward, either you share half your DNA with them or you don't. They threw in the stat to make it look more "accurate" but just exposed that it's complete BS.

Some kind of lategame recursive crafting would go hard, or making the intermediaries farmable.

I normally just hold the steam deck and sit upright on the bike, the screen is too small to use a controller for most games.

I'm using steam remote play! My PC in my room is running the game and I'm just streaming it, the game did kind of run on my steam deck but it gets very choppy and eats the battery life so I mainly just stream.

I've been doing it regularly for a couple of years now, it's nice to get some excercise in but have fun at the same time.

My chillet plush from makeship arrived today so I knew what I had to do. Yes, I'm gaming on my spin bike.

Isn't the main reason it's such a popular suicide hotspot because it's so close to tokyo? I don't know enough about new york to think of the american equivalent but it's like,,, long island.

I have a chillet plushie on the way, I hope it gets here soon.

Chillet is great, I caught the boss chillet as soon as I found it and I've used that same guy for the entire game so far (I've just entered the world tree). Ice/dragon is a very useful typing, there's a lot of bosses that are dark, dragon or ground. Also I'm always a fan of the pal designs that are a bit more unique, chillet is literally "ferrets are long, dragons are long, what if we combined the two"

I've mainly been streaming from my PC to my steam deck. The game runs well enough on steam deck, but streaming it has less random laggy moments and much better battery life.

Did you pick it up? Some people like to open bird pellets like this up, inside there's normally a ton of little mouse bones.

To be fair, candy does come out of the large mammoths. Just don't do it until you're at least their level.

I raided a syndicate base recently and the caged pal they had was one of those awful birds. I left it there.

RIP priya you would have loved being a soft butch
