As someone who was almost in this exact situation, its not sudden coldness. Its utter exhaustion. After dealing with someone like this, you lose the capacity to care simply because they clearly did not care about you for so long.

My suggestion would be to get into a group of nerds! Theres very welcoming communities at game stores. Usually theyll have nights for different games like magic or dnd. Its always a diverse group, and being exposed to that will help you get out of your head.

Ive honestly always loved it. And the goonies was filmed in Astoria, and one of my favorite albums ever by marianas trench is called Astoria (goonies themed).
