I definitely agree with doing a reboot. That would do more service to the story. As much as I adore the anime, it's format doesn't work for an adaptation of all of the novels.

Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki. I got halfway through and just couldn't pick it back up. I liked the concept of mashing aliens and demons and reality, and I love multiple povs. But everything just happened with little to no consequences. Things just get resolved or brushed aside. There wasn't enough chemistry between the two older women for me to be invested in their relationship - which was disappointing because I really wanted to read a lesbian romance subplot with older women. I just didn't care about anyone.

I get that, I also felt like the movie was lacking. The book is a lot better.

I want to like Pulp Fiction, but I just find it okay. I think Snatch is a better movie and a better comparison to Baccano.

Baccano really is a unique experience and I'm always trying to find something similar and always come up short. The closest I've found were Snatch and Bullet Train (the book).
