Just had a great season from a 25yo 2b who was no where on my radar. My SS is a 80/80 beast but wrecked at 27 lol. So while nursing him through 5-8 minor injuries a year like he’s the bubble boy I have to deploy my starting 2b over to shortstop. It opened up a role for a backup/platoon bat and holy hell I bring up Xavier Barrett because he was raking at 3A and can hit lefties (and he earned it from stars between my other options) so on to the 40 man he went, and he hits .340 for 2 months mostly facing lefties. When my SS finally gets healthy now my starting 2b decides to go down hurt. Barret still hits over.300 in about 400 abs with 20 home runs. Going into the following year he’s like 50/55/45 with 65 defense at 2b but I just have no way to fit him into the puzzle so I traded him for a back rotation arm who is delivering nice.

I’m hoping the dodgers get knocked out on the other half of the bracket which is totally possible. Last year they just snuck by Philly and had a close call with San Diego a year prior. It’s still baseball after all

I have a corner outfielder I went way over slot for in the third round. He won the mvp year 2 but after that slid into that 55-60 overall range you’re talking about. He’s a switch hitter who hits righties better (I like that) has a strong arm but no range (that’s what my CF is for) and has yet to fail to hit 30 home runs in a season. His build has always been high babip, high power, mid eye and strikes out a ton. Normal injury rating but he always posts like he’s durable no IL stints. He’s going into his age 34 season now and tracking for 500 home runs. I can’t hit him against lefties every day anymore and he’s slid down to 8th in the batting order. Despite being fast he can’t steal a bag to save his life. These are the guys that help make the game so fun. Players with flaws but enough good qualities to keep around. His days of 2+ WAR are long gone but I can still find value in my lineup for 30-40 homers. Hope you find your own unsung hero to love too!

In my opinion it plays a lot better than it should. 25 avoid k is ghastly yet I’ve seen similar profiles posted where the guy hits 60 bombs walks 100 plus times and strikes out 300+ times. Hope he’s a good find for you either way. Now if that power dips below 70 it starts to become very unplayable fast
