These automated karma-farming bots have taken to slightly rotating the images they steal in an attempt to make themselves harder to detect.
Possibly that works well against automated bot detectors, but it sticks out like a sore thumb to humans.

Show a photo of your full Xbox motherboard, along with an extra close up of whatever area it is that you've worked on.

Given that you're experiencing this error both when trying to copy files from a real USB drive formatted as an Xbox memory card and when trying to copy the same particular files from a virtual HDD, it sounds a lot like FATXplorer itself is the problem here. Possibly u/EatonZ could offer some more insight.
In the meantime, it might be helpful for you to list the specific paths for each of the files you're having trouble with.

Would be nice if there were some sync tools to keep an xemu and real Xbox save set in sync, but I don't think there's anyone out there currently interested in building such a tool.
Rocky5 has XBMC scripts for this purpose - I gather you currently need to update XBMC4Gamers to the test build to gain access to them. Load the same dash up on both your console and within your Xemu environment, and off you go.

More often, a triple-boot FRAG appearing "out of the blue" happens because the VRM caps near the console's main CPU are failing.
Lots of other things can cause them as well. In this case, OP's console was suffering from a bad PSU, but yours may be quite different.
I suggest you create a new post with photos showing the insides of your console.

This sounds like an ancient set up, so I suggest running XCAT before making any changes to it.
If you're certain a hardmod hasn't already been applied to this motherboard, then you can replace whatever softmod is on the hard drive by using Rocky5's Quick Upgrade.zip package.

They're very specifically using this art as the banner for the collection.

The decision to go with MS7 rather than MSXX is weird, though.
The decision to leave either out is weird. What sort of "Ultimate" collection fails to at least include all of the mainline games?! O_o
I have to wonder if there's more to this than meets the eye: maybe I'm being hopelessly optimistic here, but perhaps some additional games will be available as unlocks. For example, Red Eye is visible in the advertising banner for the Ultimate Collection, even though she doesn't actually feature in any of the titles listed.

There are various pathways which lead to this boss, and if you want to beat it easily then you'll need to wade in with a vehicle. A basic SV-001 can't jump onto the platforms which lead to the top of the arena, but it'll still make it easy to bring in a lot of ammo for your commando, and eventually Cabracan will drop to the bottom of the stage so you can go wild with the vulcans as well.

Keep in mind that although Cabracan is the final boss, Mission 5 isn't the final stage. To get to the last mission you'll need to defeat Cabracan with the Dungeon card in hand.

AFAIK with a softmod you can't disable the DVD drive check.
Indeed. The console can't reach the stage of loading softmod exploit files until after the DVD check has passed, so hardmodding the console to directly boot a custom BIOS which skips that check is the only way to totally do away with the DVD drive hardware.
I've not done this myself under these circumstances so you'll need others' advice about the best BIOS to use
CerBIOS allows you to run with no DVD drive by default.

Destroy All Humans is another one I’ve always liked because it just doesn’t take itself seriously at all.
The sequel is also on Xbox.
BombBloke
Rather than extracting, modifying, and then reflashing your older BIOS, it'd be simpler to just flash a current version of CerBIOS.
BombBloke
If it is the X2 5035, then that already allows you to boot without a DVD drive by default. X2 BIOS versions in the 4xxx range don't.

I'm not sure how to make the shadowC_off.bin file
One way to make a suitable empty file is to create a new document in Notepad and then just immediately go File => Save.
Because Windows like to hide file extensions by default, it may be easy to end up creating a file called shadowC_off.bin.txt this way. That'll become apparent once you look at it through your FTP client, but you can always rename it at that point if need be.
BombBloke
Yeah.
The catch is that Xboxes usually require a password protected hard drive. If the console has been hardmodded to boot a custom BIOS, then that restriction goes away, but if it's still booting original firmware then things get complicated.
If your boot animation differs from this in any way (for eg, do you maybe see a purple EvoX logo?), then you definitely have a hardmod set up on your motherboard. If it's the same, then you almost certainly just had a softmod installed to your old (now dead) HDD, and to prepare a new HDD to work the same it'll also need a password on it.
The password itself needs to be based on the unique HDD key value stored in this specific console's EEPROM chip. If you don't already have a backup of your console's EEPROM, then it is possible to dump it using an external reader device, but you might just want to hardmod your console by way of a modchip so that you can avoid the whole password protection thing entirely.

DVD errors are usually in the range of 10-12.
I have no idea what would cause an error 17 to throw, but 07 points to the HDD.

Good job! Which EEPROM version did Xemu end up accepting?
BombBloke
Second, to confirm, reformatting my EEPROM through LiveInfo would not affect my ability to move saves back and forth, would it?
No, so long as you keep the HDD key the same, changing your EEPROM format won't negatively affect your ability to use your saves.
BombBloke
I honestly was just hoping Xemu would load my EEPROM correctly so I could move save games between Xemu and my physical console using my usb drive. If I'm going about this the wrong way, by all means let me know.
Some save games are signed against your HDD key, which is indeed kept in your EEPROM. Most games don't sign their saves, but for the few which do, bringing over your EEPROM backup would indeed generally be the easiest way to bring over your key for them.
Next easiest would probably be to launch ConfigMagic within Xemu and to manually enter your key through that.
CerBIOS can be found on Xbins, which you can access using Pandora. I recommend you try reformatting your EEPROM backup through LiveInfo before resorting to that, though.
BombBloke
The deal is that there are three EEPROM layouts that your original console might be using: the 1.0 layout, the 1.1 layout, or the 1.6 layout.
Normally if you take an EEPROM dump and feed it to another console which requires a different layout, then that console won't boot. Black screen, red LED.
I can't find any solid documentation about whether Xemu somehow avoids this problem, but I'd guess the answer might be to open your dump in LiveInfo and to try re-saving it in the other formats.
CerBIOS should work around the black screen by simply allowing the emu to carry on booting even if the EEPROM can't be parsed, but if you specifically want your EEPROM data to load correctly then I'd expect that it needs to be formatted as whatever version it is that Xemu itself wants.
Also bear in mind that you'll need to tweak the MAC address in your dump if you want to be able to play network games between Xemu and your real console.

I would recommend providing the full file or folder paths that the error messages are giving you.
Yes.
