Also Blender artist here, a lot of it is probably just control boners that dont retain their curves shapes. Some other setups also have bones going in the opposite direction of what you'd expect, though its pretty rare.

Meanwhile my usual group runs Gettner, Michaelson, Trench, and Morida lmao

Plenty of things that can be covered between E-Day and Gears 1, including stories that have nothing to do with Marcus. Hoping we'll continue to see more of that and just leave the new trilogy unfinished.
BreakBlue
I wouldnt count on a Gears 6. I think the best we're gonna get is just an explanation of what the plan would have been.
BreakBlue
Yeah it changes almost every game. Prime 1 was more realistic, Prime 2 & 3 were the more typical Zero Suit look we would see in Smash, then Prime 4 went back to more realism. The 2D games are even more all over the place.
BreakBlue
Sure. But its fine to not have the striga on every map too. The incinerator is more forgiving to use at point blank range too.
BreakBlue
Some of them serve similar purposes, just with varying levels. Incinerator can kill multiple in one shot (plus burn on surfaces.) Breach is better without zoom and has a larger reticule, but longshot does more damage in a single body shot and can scope.
BreakBlue
Nah, rifles in general are in a good place. Retro isnt even a weapon you spawn with.
The only pvp rebalance I'd like to probably see is reducing DBNO health just a touch.
BreakBlue
Thats why I said push up gradually. Find the weak link and pick them off when they peek or something. Its not easy, but thats teamwork. Could also try to bait the gut punch into firing and the other 3 pick that guy off with snubs immediately. Whether or not your team has the coordination for that is another story entirely, but y'know.
BreakBlue
I mean, kinda showing your ass here arent ya? You're sitting across the universe with a retro lancer, not gonna get anything done. Push up gradually. Try to coordinate with your team to pick off one guy, and then outnumber them with a push.
BreakBlue
Me. I love Samus, I love Metroid, and its nice that one of the characters is really fast paced and in your face.
BreakBlue
Gill, for very similar reasons to yours. I also very much like the pretty blonde lady, its the closest I can have to Samus in Gears. :']
The first time I heard her shout shit-fucking cock-sucking bastard on a jam was also an incredible moment.
BreakBlue
Wha? Boomshot has 3 shots dude. What do you want, 1?
And remove the Gorehook? That thing barely even works half the time cause theres so much cover. Are you just Gnasher rushing it these weapons???
BreakBlue
Wario fart propulsion theory. "He also attacks by farting. He can fart to fly around, too."
BreakBlue
"the lancer is cracked but that's not so much an issue more than the way the movement and maps are set up."
So nice to finally hear someone else realize it. The maps have stuff littered everywhere, its not too hard to dodge Lancers unless you're getting crossed.
BreakBlue
Man wants to get paid to go 2-10
BreakBlue
Gridlock will almost certainly happen. Its been in every game but Judgment. River maybe. The other 2 I'm pretty confident in saying no, as they were clearly made for Horde, hence why theyre so massive. They wouldnt mesh well with 4 v 4.
I'm sure we'll get more Horde Siege maps, just not those specifically.

Man has 0 understanding of art & intent
BreakBlue
Looks plenty like her, especially given how often her face changes in the source material anyway
BreakBlue
"and break around it you get stuck quite alot in animations."
This right here is so, so important. And its a good thing. See, I look at it like fighting games. You need actions that can be punished. You dont want vaulting, wallbouncing, etc to be too safe. You want bad decisions to be punishable. Countering mantle kicks, for example, I dont think mattered cause realistically you should just blast them before they get the shot off or get out of the way and setup for counter-play. It forces you to expose yourself; the kick-counter might've been too safe.
BreakBlue
Wallbouncing isnt gonna really save you from multiple rifles. Theres a LOT of cover in this game, it gives you a lot of room to move from spot to spot without getting downed unless you're getting crossed. Which, if you cant move cause you're getting crossed, thats a teamwork problem.
It depends on your team but theres always counter play. Now whether or not your counter play is anticipated and stomped out is another thing entirely. Its all about good comms. All the changes to the gameplay is to encourage people to use their heads and work as a team, and the revised formula is exposing just how much people fail at teamwork tbh.

I disagree, actually. My crew uses the Gnasher plenty - but we just use it when the situation calls for it. We will use whatever is deemed best at the time. Hell we pick up the Hammerburst. Gnasher still very much has its place, but thats where the Gnasher crowd is falling short. This game is challenging you to use your head and play how the situation requires you to - not however you feel like playing whenever you want to. The game very much wants you to play more like a tactical squad shooter rather than dudes just running at each other to fist fight with guns.
Same for wallbouncing. It exists, I use it. Hell I wallbounce with the Lancer for chainsaw kills when someone catches me off guard. Its just a lot closer to Gears 1 where its not as much of a get out of jail free card. You need to be good at it to make effective use of it, and its punishable if you're not doing it right.
Personally I think this is maybe the most balanced Gears. The only changes I'd make, off the top of my head, is maybe buffing the Vulcan just a smidge to beta levels of power, and reducing the health of DBNO players. I shot someone with a Longshot while they were down -and I had to SHOOT THEM AGAIN STILL-
BreakBlue
I've been playing since 2008. I was top 300 in Execution in Gears 2, and TDM in Gears 3 lol. I have several thousand hours invested in pvp across the series. Execution was my favorite game mode till it just kinda died in 3 when TDM stole its popularity.
BreakBlue
I used one example, but it can be gnasher monkeys who just wanna play Tekken with guns, or people just raging about rifles, the lack of frag tagging, stacked vs solo stuff, etc. Sometimes valid takes, but presentation matters. It makes the difference between "QQ devs are bad evil people" and "I have some grievances with the game, lets discuss."
Yeah it needs a smidge of magnetism / lock on like it did in past games, the hitbox for it is WAY too small.
The biggest issue is that it straight up does not work sometimes. You start the chainsaw animation and the player can just walk away during it. I had a guy walk away, turn around and realize what was happening, then blast me out of my sneakers.
