The Living Wage is the minimum wage needed to pay for basic expenses for a worker in their community ($19.95/h in WR). This morning I took pictures of some local (DTK) certified living wage employers. The Region of Waterloo is also a living wage employer as of a few months ago. More info in comments (old.reddit.com)

So who in KW has joined mastodon? Are there local personalities or entities I should follow now that I have a mastodon account? (self.waterloo)

The Juneberries are ripe! Here's a map of 20 or so bushes I found around town. They're sweet and edible (but make sure you're certain about what you're eating if you do choose to eat them) (goo.gl)

I've been working on color-coding bike routes in KW based on how fearless/cautious you need to be to want to cycle it. Blue=kids could cycle it, Red=only the fearless would cycle it. Looking for thoughts and feedback on if this is useful and how to make it more useful. Interactive link in comments. (i.redd.it)

Opinion: If you live and work downtown/uptown, it's not worth it to own a car. Better to bike/walk/transit and join the car share. (self.waterloo)

I recently finished my music undergrad. I've a variety of styles of piano for about 13 years. I'm looking for career advice. Is anyone available to meet by video call? (self.piano) [Other]

I wrote out Chopin's Prelude in E Minor as a jazz lead sheet. Here's a rough recording. Sheet music is in the comments. Inspired by u/FAEBOERT (youtu.be) [Playing/Composition (me)]

I'm giving free one-time piano lessons to redditors on Monday, May 3rd. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's in music and I'm hoping to get more experience teaching. Message me if you're interested. (self.pianolearning) [Learning Resources]

I used to try and record multi-track acapella stuff when I was younger. I came across an old mic and decided to give it another go with this barbershop tag. It's rough, but I'm super excited to be back singing these juicy four-voice parts again! (soundcloud.com)

I wrote sheet music for Yɛn Ara Asaase Ni! I don't speak Twi at all though (I'm trying to learn). Please let me know if it makes sense the way I divided the syllables and words in the lyrics. (musescore.com)
