Looks like smokey quartz amethyst.
Edit: Looking closer, I can see purple in the video.
Calibas
Another victim of Reddit's video compression.

It's real 3D. I'm stitching together 2D tiles, then applying a heightmap for depth. Instead of shading tricks for the shadows, it's actual path tracing.

I can get Cantor dust for cheaper at my local fractal store.

If I remember correctly, the way to disable a unit is to remove it from the factory's build list.

You can go around the GPU limits with things like perturbation theory and floatexp. I've been able to zoom past 10^3000 and render using the GPU, though I use the CPU to calculate the reference orbit first.

The 60fps one looks smooth.
I think the issue I was seeing is that's it's trying to play a 24 fps video at 30 fps.
Calibas
Which coloring algorithm is that? Looks awesome and I want to add it to my renderer.
I could be mistaken, but the animation doesn't seem completely smooth. I loaded it up in VLC, and it's telling me that every 5 frames, the animation pauses for a single frame.
Calibas
Looks like Reddit butchered the video quality.

Looking at the surface in the first picture, I think that's a fossil. It might have agatized pockets inside.
Calibas
I'm reporting this to the subreddit mods!
Calibas
Thanks! I've been reading the Softology blog, I think that should be everything I need.
I should have time to implement this when I'm done with Mandelbrot deep zooms.
Calibas
What do you mean? That looks like a real escape-time fractal, though I'm not sure which equation they're using. It's not something common like a Mandelbrot or Julia.
Calibas
What do you use to create these? I want to see how they're made so I can add them to my program as well.
Calibas
Minty fresh

It's meant to be blissful, not painful.
What's it like for you?
Calibas
Not a bad outlook.
Personally, I think everything is "spiritual" and only our beliefs, our own minds, make it otherwise.
Calibas
So it's the result of an action that makes something spiritual or not?
Calibas
There's something very literal about the two becoming one, and not just the physical joining.
Even from a highly-skeptical atheistic perspective, there's something miraculous going on. Your essence, the stuff that makes you who you are, your DNA, joins with another person's to create new life.
If anything is divine it's the creation of life itself, and that is sex.

For the record, not every branch of Buddhism believes this, or every Buddha for that matter...

I haven't really found a good balance between the infinite resolution of fractals and sane file sizes. I've noticed more blur, and less sharp details, makes video compression easier.
In the app I've been using:
Codec: H.264
Encoder: NVIDIA NVENC
Quality: 30 CRF
Preset: P6
Seems close to ffmpeg's defaults, decent video quality.

Rules about how to live your life is religion, I like to think spirituality is about empowering the human to make their own decisions. Then the only rule you need is self-awareness.
Pay close attention, exactly how is drinking altering your frequency? Is this something you would choose for yourself?
And go deeper, what exactly does drinking do for you? Why do you drink? What basic urge does it satisfy?
You can get to the very roots of addiction itself, which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with alcohol.
If there's purple hues it's likely smokey amethyst.
