Yeah it’s completely covered. There is some more glow in the dark plastic inside the steel bit. I think it makes sense to do this because that rounded edge does matter when using the pliers.

CapFM1

It takes some practice but yes

CapFM1

I do hope they drop a stainless version becasue I prefer that. I think they can improve this model a bit for a v2.

CapFM1

I don’t really like it the tools are okay at best. The pliers do feel nice and smooth though. What part feels fake?

CapFM1

Yes you are right it is held in with the pivot screw.

What I meant with the pliers is the end has the steel liners wrapping around so I don’t think it would be easy to make a hole in for tweezers

I got a review sample from Nextool.

CapFM1

Hi I’m familiar with your mods. From what I can tell the plastic portion is basically a liner and has indents where the metal fits into. I think you would have a good chance at getting tweezers in there. As for the plier side the plastic is all incased in steel so that probably not an option.

What makes you like the gen 2 wave more that the wave +?

CapFM1

Good point about the driver not being centered I did notice that was a little bit awkward when using it. I will compare it to the F12 and the Powerpint in my video but I don’t have a skeletool unfortunately.

CapFM1

You can officially order it today. Most videos for this tool will come out after the 25th if you want to see others opinions on it.

CapFM1

Yes I have one I got for review I’ll be doing a full video soon but I can’t release it till the after the 25th.

I guess I can talk about it now that it’s on Amazon though. I like it a lot, though it is a bit chunkier than I imagined it would be. The blade is nice and is easily deployed one handed the bit driver is probably the only slight disappointment as it come with a PH1 instead of a PH2. The scissors are great as usual and the clip is much better than the f12. I think a lot of people will like this one.

CapFM1

I must have missed it

CapFM1

I like the mini sailor series from Nextool they are great light duty multitools. I would say sticking with Nextool would be good they have a lot of great designs.

The flagship f20 is coming out soon and is the next step up size wise from this tool. There is also the Nextool black knight which is almost a full sized tool but still reasonably lightweight with both pliers and scissors.

CapFM1

Interesting how both this and the Nextool f20 released around the same time. I’m gonna have to get this one too!

CapFM1

Yes

CapFM1

Ok I have one now and I can confirm everything locks

CapFM1

How strong is the slip joint on this?

CapFM1

I think it’s be better to just get it on Amazon when it comes out(it’s really soon) it will probably be around $40 I can’t see them charging much more than that.

CapFM1

Fairly certain it has a liner lock
