Your price is probably a little low for quality instruction. I’d think 70+
CaptKrag
Yes reasonable question
I’ve been doing 2 weeks up (60mpw), 1 week down (45mpw) for about 16 weeks. Most of the up weeks i did 1 threshold, peaking at 2x15min @ 6:25 on hard pack dirt.
My other peak long run was 20 miles with gentle progression from 9 -6:30 at the end, averaging 7:30 overall

This marathon training block, I did two 16 milers with 10 at 6:35 pace. Is that sufficient evidence to shoot for 2:55 at nyc marathon? Haven’t run any races recently and last marathon was years ago, but 3:10

Wild. There was a lot of crew there
CaptKrag
I don’t understand. Why?
CaptKrag
Yes
CaptKrag
What sorts of real-world systems might this be applicable to?
CaptKrag
Wait what’s that mean?
CaptKrag
This seems like a vibes based table. Particularly because it’s titled Expected Physiological Adaptation. What’s the source?
Not to say it’s wrong, but it looks more like getting ideas into a presentable format than research backed data
CaptKrag
Maybe spiga -- it's a restaurant, but has a cafe vibe and fits your description.
CaptKrag
Neither dunkin nor McDonald’s use any robusta beans at all in their coffee. No other popular chains do either
CaptKrag
How’d you start and what changes did you notice?
CaptKrag
Software engineer at large tech company (but not Big Tech).
As another poster said, new grads are hitting 150k here, but they’re ever tougher jobs to get
CaptKrag
I don’t understand this point. Optical human drivers are not on the road. Real human drivers are. If we want to know about safety, the real data seems like the best point of comparison
CaptKrag
No. Why would she be promoting her substack so aggressively?
I thought the episode was kind of great. Just a good story
CaptKrag
Where are you getting that from? Legionaires is spread through hvac systems
CaptKrag
We only have her in once a month. But we pay her 230 including tip and she spends 4-5 hours cleaning
CaptKrag
I work in biggish tech. And had the same inkling. The smoothest transition Is likely attempting an internal move to a team that aligns with your new interest. The barrier to entry will be much lower. I had great success doing so at my current company
CaptKrag
Google is not meta. Google has a reputation for chill in the industry. Meta is known to be pretty grindy (long hours)
But to your overall point it’s still a very very cushy job
CaptKrag
I mean, no. This is real. Things are changing and it's accelerating. Worrying about specific features of c++ is more esoteric than it's ever been before
CaptKrag
Ran 96 to 34. Pretty good for gentle running. Not good enough for any uptempo
CaptKrag
What happened to anti flag?
CaptKrag
I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but you don't actually have to set your NYRR best pace in a 10k. They use your best performance from any race and use a race equivalency calculator to get the 10K equivalent 10k pace. So you could do it in one if the many CP 4 milers
I eat a lot of frozen berries so just googled this.
Apparently what you’re saying is true in Europe but not US.
This may just be due to EU being more cautious, but either way it doesn’t match general guidance in US
