I mean from Peter's perspective it might be impossible to imagine that people could actually create the games they promise before AI, I'll give him that.
Carighan
She is vulnerable? With a baseline tp and so much damage that most divers die during the dive?!
Carighan
And then coding-wise it's just easier to always use 3s of the debuff, independent of the 1s of stun.
Carighan
You're not wrong, but that's for actual coding with AI assistance. Which at least in my company had the weird side-effect that we need more time proofing/fixing the AI code than actually writing it manually would have taken. This might be our specific field (logistics has a lot of rather unusual constraints and quirks), AI wants to actively not write code like the industry needs it to be written.
Vibe-coding however speciifcally means just being an aspiring author who tries sentences until the final product either somewhat works, or has deleted something important and they have to give up.
Carighan
Why not all execs? Their jobs can be done by AI, and they cost a lot per-job.

The first truly positive news about Pokemon Unite I've read. 🥂

Yeah exacty. At some point, someone not at a bottom rung at CA had the chance to stop this, and it was their job description to do so if defective. They did not. CA, as a company, apparently has no checks&balances for this, and/or actively fosters this. And CA, as a company, is led by some managers, who in turn either encourage, embody or at least abide by this behavior. And hence are responsible for this. And frankly should probably see the door.
If the CEO is such a bad leader that the company under him turns into one that can release this turd, then he's not fit to be a CEO, simple as that. And there are other C-suites, who (supposedly) have near-equal say and could have stopped this, too.
This is the kind of stuff the entire C-level should be vacated for.
Carighan
That is correct, and why I no longer have HotS installed.
Carighan
Tank you very much!
Carighan
No it ain't, they managed to write a sentence. That's their actual work. Aspiring author.
Carighan
What do you mean still lose?
Steam at this point has ~everything:
- The most functionality (I mean how long did EGS need to even have a shopping cart? And they recently broke everything again with their vibe-coded shit-client they showed off, it's so hilariously buggy).
- The biggest library.
- Everyone is already comfortable there and has their entire library they're and they're not actively hurting and hence looking for a way out. The last part he seems to conveniently miss every time.
- A large enough cut for devs that between what they get + the far far far far larger chance of an audience, devs make more effective money on Steam.
- A userbase not trained to only open your client once a week for a free game then close it again.
- A client that opens in a finite amount of time, unlike Epic.
- Community integration that keeps people looking at Steam what they're friends/aqaintences are doing.
- Family libraries that keep people wanting to buy there to not have to double-buy with their folks.
- At this point, and at least comparing Epic, the more pro-consumer policies and requirements.
I mean... if Tim thinks he even took a shot at not losing, he should be admitted, tbh. He's clearly no longer mentally sound. He set himself up to lose and he lost, but openly so. He never tried anything else but losing.
It feels like he wastes all that money just to have a background story for his online persona, essentially.
Carighan
Ah, the typical guy who is rich in his villa talking about how others have to tighten the belt because muh ekonomii.
Carighan
I love how much Tim understands that if you commit to the "all publicity is good publicity"-bit, you gotta really commit to it. And posts the absolutely most-heinously-laughably-stupid shit imaginable.
He's the Kanye West of gaming, basically.
Carighan
Yes because reactionary turds would rather elect hateful bigots than ever dare look into the mirror and ask "Am I wrong?". It's wild. In particular because for absolutely crucial issues like climate change, for brief brief moment we were actually close to all caring together about a topic. We had a real chance to change things, and while close or mildly too late, roughly in time if you squint a bit.
And then of course someone had to go "But what if it's actually people with a different skin colour who are at fault?!" and the crowds cheered their new Führer on...
Carighan
The guy no longer buys yachts btw, he builds them now. He bought his own yacht-shipyard.
Carighan
Tim Sweeney has insanely strong "No it's the kids who are wrong!!!"-vibes.
He just utterly fails to comprehend even the most basic shit that everyone else sees, because from his position of carefree money via Fortnite + being the don't-disagree-with-me-or-you're-fired CEO of a large company, he has no ability to see far enough down to notice what is actually happening.
Carighan
Oh Tim Sweeney managed nearly 48 hours without barfing into a microphone. Good work, Timmy-boy!
Carighan
In general I wish we could differentiate our character's age better. My Roe looks somewhat old with the specific skin + hair tones I've chosen and with their skin luster it seems fitting there's few dimples and creases. But still!
Carighan
👆 Found the first tank blamer.
Carighan
Honestly because nowadays tanks feel like marginally less easy to kill melee DPS. Damage and control have escalates over many many years, slowly buy steadily, and TTK has gone down and down. Comparatively speaking this works still, but coming up on 50 I no longer have the reflexes to play when my tank lives 0.2s longer than a DPS instead of 2s longer.
Carighan
Of course they looked at it. Do you honestly believe they didn't?
They're just lying through their teeth, they fully knew what a turd they were released and were just banking on their used-to-insane-unfinishedness fanbase would be okay with it anyways.
Carighan
Yeah maybe checks&balances aren't a thing if the managers would have to fire themselves.
Carighan
I'll buy 40k right when I finally get around to buying the TTG, too. I was first asked about that ~25 years ago, so CA's chances aren't great.
Carighan
And people actually believing the blame-shifting onto the contracted company. Wild.
How does that compare the actual movement speed if you include non-moving segments?
