I don't think so either. Same weight/shape/size, practically the same performance, and smaller battery.

AI answer:

Key Hardware Differences

  • Switches: The original uses Omron Optical switches (zero double-click risk, lighter click feel). The Hyperlight X moves to Huano SPDT mechanical switches, which detect actuation between contacts to cut latency with crisper tactile feedback.
  • Sensor: Upgraded from the PixArt PAW3395 to the PixArt PAW3950. Real-world tracking on cloth is functionally indistinguishable, though the 3950 tracks better on glass.
  • MCU: Upgraded from the Nordic nRF52840 to the newer, more power-efficient Nordic nRF54L15.
  • Included Dongle: The original costs $89.99 and ships with a standard 1K dongle (8K dongle sold separately). The Hyperlight X costs $109.99 and includes the 8K wireless dongle in the box.
  • Battery & Base Tooling: Battery drops from 250 mAh to 200 mAh to shave 1 gram (38g vs. 39g) while adding fast charging. The base tooling is revised to seal off dust around the battery compartment.
  • Software: The Hyperlight X adds Hitscan Control, a web-based driver with onboard profile and macro saving.

The Verdict

  • If you already own the Hyperlight: Skip it. The 118 × 61 × 38 mm dimensions and weight (38g vs. 39g) haven't changed. A properly implemented 3395 doesn't spin out, and optical switches never develop mechanical contact chatter.
  • If you don't own either yet: Buy the Hyperlight X. Buying the original ($89.99) plus an add-on 8K dongle costs roughly the same as the X ($109.99), but the X gives you the 3950 sensor, better base dust protection, and web-based software.

Her most used skin is still not very widely used/purchased compared to a Luna skin, sadly

Thank you!

I like co-op games and shooters and roguelikes. Although I'd need two keys to play with my friend if it's online only, if that's possible. I wish there were more local co-op games, but I guess this type of game wouldn't work as well local?

Did some research and we only made it to Little Charlton Peak. But yeah, definitely would be easier another time!

We did it yesterday. The snow was up to the knees, and the trail wasn't visible near the summit. We got to what looked like the highest point (this smooth nubby rock) after some scrambling, so I'd count it. But we definitely would not have been able to do it if people hadn't gone before and put footprints in the snow.
