Yeah prisoner are put to work... Now I don't want to get too off topic here. How US prisons are run is whole can of worms...
So to keep it on topic. I am going to say prison labor is slave labor. Correct me if I am wrong, but from your comments It sounds like that is what you are getting at.
I still don't see how the US was designed that slaves would be doing most of the work.
Around 4 years ago it was estimated the prison slave labor produces about 11 billion of goods and services. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jun/15/us-prison-workers-low-wages-exploited
11 billion is alot of money. But the US has a 30+ trillion dollar economy... So .00036% of the US economy is slave labor? Not exactly most of the work is it?
And lets not talk about how prisons costs the tax payers 80 billion a year to fund. Spending 80 billion and getting 11 billion back.
Classic US government.. even with slave labor they still manage to loose money.

Responding to me and then blocking me, so I can't respond back come on man, that is a bit dirty..
But I am all about open conversations so I will just respond this way.
Sure. Tailor the argument to give the result you want. That's not weird at all.
Umm I am not tailoring anything that is argument we are talking about on the original comment. That I responded to. See below.
For the longest time I was against an electric car because I couldn't charge it at my townhouse.
Then I realized I never turned down buying a gas-powered car because I didn't have a gas station built into my house.
.
So, you're ignoring my previous posts.
No I read it, have you ready any of mine. Because nothing you have said has anything to do with my argument, "If you can't charge at home don't get an EV." That is all I am saying. Fast chargers take forever, or saying EVs stuck or anything like that. (I have an EV and love it). Honestly basically everything you have said I agree with.
The only thing I am saying is If your are looking at getting an EV. And you don't have access to home charging I would recommend against it for most people. Because of how big of a benefit Home charging is. It completely invalidates any argument of gas can fill up in 5 minutes and EVs are looking at 10-20 minutes. Because day to day you will never need a fast charger.
The fact is, most EV owners have home chargers.
Isn't that interesting. It is almost like having home charging is a massive benefit over not having a home charger. So the people who can't charge at home don't get an EV. Funny how that is exactly what I have been saying and recommending.

You could stop for a 5 min top off-
So now you have to plan on going back to the charger after work to finish.
You're really almost hyperbolic about this atm.
I have a handful of people that got EVs ended up hating it because they couldn't charge at home.
I want to be very clear to people if you can't charge at home there are some big downsides. If you are ok with them you do you. But I don't want them to hate EVs because they didn't consider all of the angles.
Personally if I couldn't charge at home I would not have gotten an EV. But I can charge at home. and I love it so it is all good.

I spend 99.9% of my time charging overnight or while I'm at home doing normal home stuff. I have a home charger like the majority of EV owners. I have friends who charge from wall sockets and do it successfully without it affecting their driving habits.
I 100% agree with you. But I am talking about a setting where no home charger option is available. Your only options are public charging network. So no you aren't doing it two times a year your doing it weekly just like you would with a gas car.

Is it not illegal to switch lanes in an intersection like that?

100% I don't know why this isn't talked about enough. Your fancy self driving car is dumber than a base Toyota with out paying a monthly fee.

I had that a few times, but I cleaned the camera spot on my windshield with a glass cleaner and microfiber cloth really well so the cameras could see better. Haven't had an issue since.

Seems more of a roll to me.

Dang could they make those inside photos any more terrifying?

What are you talking about? I haven't heard of back feeding a house breaking you EV charger.

You can get a Lucid Air (Grand Touring) or Chevrolet Silverado EV That will hit the 500 miles.
I think BMW, Volvo and Hyundai are all rumord to have 500 mile cars this year.
You are absolutely going to be paying a premium But you have options if you want 500 miles.
Catsrules
Have you considered a car that can power your house and have good range?
These two aren't mutually exclusive.

Why would I let the company control my house?"
Because the Utility is giving you a discount?

Is it just me or is that phrasing sound exactly how an AI response after you caught it being wrong.

Yes, the base model FSD is the same as the top of the line. As far as I know all models and versions of Teslas sold today are FSD capable and are basically the same hardware wise. (HW4 systems.)
Any why wouldn't they be? Tesla wants that sweet sweet subscription nector. $100 a month is a pretty penny... Also the FSD data they collect is very valuable.
That said from my understanding difference in regions run different software models. For example the China FSD is a different model than the US FSD. Also FSD is only available in a handful of countries. As it is being held up in legal process.

With how expensive cars are to fix, the bar for totaling a car keeps getting lower and lower. Just a little fender bender can total a car.

You're solely focused on charging.
Because so much of EV benefits revolve around power and power comes from charging. For example EV only features like pre-conditioning, Dog Modem, Sentry mode etc.. all consume power. Every time your use them your battery is draining.
I can have sentry mode running all day at work and use 5% of my battery. 5 days a week that is 25% of my battery just on Sentry mode in a week. With home charging it isn't that big of a deal. I plug it in every day at home and I am back up to my charge limit within hours. My life isn't really affected at all, apart from the power costs. No home charging... I am spending more time at the fast charger, on top of paying 3x more in power for those features.
On top of that with home charging I can pre-condition and run Sentery mode right off my home power system and not have to touch my cars battery. VS no home charging, my battery is even more dead then when I parked it last night.
Yes 100% EVs are less maintenance but I would argue that benefit kind of dies off when you factor in time. When I had an ICE car I spend maybe 2-3 hours a year on, 2 oil changes, along with the other fluid changes. That time saved gets eating up very quickly when we are comparing a 15 minute charge vs a 5 mine gas fill up. Over all you are going to be spending way more more time waiting to charge then are you spending on car maintenance.
I think these 15 minutes here and there will impact your day to day life the most. Running late for work and need to gas up or charge. Well now you are going to be 15 minutes late in an EV instead of the 5 minutes in a ICE car. That might be the different between your boss being annoyed vs being mad.
Sure I would agree you are getting a better driving experience. But again the more fun you have with the car the less efficient it will be and the more time your spending at the charger.

Uber eats?? What are we some common millionaire?
Why would I use that poverty app when I can just call Cheff Francesco in the kitchen?

I am not giving Tesla a point for this. First off it is an extra monthly cost. When we are comparing budget cars throwing in an extra 100 a month on top of a car that is already 7K more. I think we are starting to compare cars in different pricing brackets.
And the bigger issue is Tesla's bonehead move that remove Autopilot from their newer cars. I would argue the Toyota Camry (TSS 3.0) is better now vs whatever the hell Tesla calls their new non-FSD garbage. I have yet to see an example of it but from what I understand it just bounces around the lanes and doesn't really auto steer the car anymore.
Basically you pay Tesla $100 a month you have the top of the line supervised driving experience. You don't, you have something that is maybe a step above cruise control.

Herd cats.
I really wish we could get some FSD commentary on what it is thinking at the time. It would be really interesting to know what it took into account for making that turn.
