I can assure you that practicing* Muslim women could care less about wearing hijab to achieve an impact to “western cultural influence”. They wear it around the world. They wear it because it’s a command of God that they wish to respect. Has nothing to do with men. In fact, men have orders from God in their scripture to dress a certain way and lower their gaze.

Also, the Muslim Brotherhood has nothing to do with their faith in terms of representation. It is an adjunct group developed way after their religion was established.

The sad part is there are people out there that can’t accept what you just said. I wish you all the best in your life endeavors and always remain proud of your identity.

Yea, you have Christian nations where people don’t practice at all, say they are yet are basically secular. You have Christian nations that heavily practice and even down to the Vatican. What is your point here? Everything exists. It doesn’t mean that any single country represents a faith. The scripture does, not the actions of people.

Ask them why it was banned in the first place. Nothing to do with their faith.

Depends what western country you’re from. At least regarding the US, it shouldn’t piss anyone off as it is a protected right to practice your faith and a constitutional pillar. Quite literally the reason pilgrims came.

Don’t conflate their faith, and what these countries do. There are many Muslim countries where Muslim women wear hijab, burqa, no covering, and all live day to day like any normal person.

You don’t just see what someone is wearing and think “oppressed”. Do people think this when they see nuns? If you were to ask a nun why she wears her covering, she would tell you why and you’d think nothing of it and just accept it. Same thing with the dude in a spider man costume in time square, you just say ok whatever. Now, if some random Muslim woman is wearing a burqa in your example, you ask and she gives you her reason “aligning with her free will just like the nun”, then how is that any different? You just accept it and move on with your life. Besides, just like you can’t force people to wear something, you can’t force* them to not wear something. It’s their free will, allow them. So long as it aligns with public decency as most nations don’t allow straight up nudity.

I know the reason, but it’d intrigue me what you’d come up with. Hint, the wearing of their head scarf has nothing to do with “men’s oppression on women”. That may exist, but is separate to their scripture. Dont conflate the two.
