Were you in the country of the language you speak when you signed up? If you were in France, as an example, but put your language as Spanish, you will usually get tasks for French based on your location.

Nothing about that is remotely true.

There was a security training a few months ago that honestly everyone should have been given but they weren’t. It specifically discussed cloud services and how nothing should be in the cloud, everything should be local so if you kept notes they should be in notepad or something and deleted once a task was completed. I had been copy/pasting notes from Google Docs but when they provided the security and market concerns, it put the iCloud into more perspective.

Funds are available seven days to the minute, never earlier unless it’s a per task project, which are rare. If there is an issue with your work, you’ll know well before seven days because you’ll lose access. Unless they are asking you to justify a time submission, you’ll always be paid. I’ve been on the platform 2.5 years and I’ve only had one pay issue and it was between DA and PayPal. They kept everyone informed and it was resolved quickly. Bottom line, keep accurate records, don’t guess your time, keep notes and report correctly and promptly. If you think you might be doing something questionable, you probably are.

DA doesn’t not have access to slack account set-up, only their own slack channel.

If there’s a project you’re working on has a slack to communicate with admins and workers, you’ll be added to the channel. Most project families don’t have one.

I save 25% for taxes because I use home office write offs. You can also write off the fees that PayPal charges for the conversion.

You can put notes to copy/paste in applications that are not cloud based, only local to your computer, ie notepad. They must be deleted once you’ve submitted your task.

I’ve changed providers three times in the last year. No issues.

You can copy paste without issue, just not to a cloud based document like Google Docs. The only compliant apps would be notepad or Word if it’s not in OneDrive. There are no flags for that.

The lack of removing the references of the project throughout the post is a bit of an indicator that they don’t read instructions.

They do not issue tax slips. You have to keep track on your own.

I encountered one who was very cranky. I had a brief discussion about an issue I was having with contradictory instructions which he/she was very rude about and the next day I was off the project and out of the slack. Then I’ve had others who have been amazing, super helpful and seemed to be appreciative of all our work.

Once the background check is started it’s out of DAs hands. You need to contact the third party company that’s handling the check to get it looked at.

You can email support but for something like that you will probably not get a response. If you only got through one part of the assessment, you might not have passed.

My issue is that even with an 18 hour timer, it pretty much still has to be done the same day. I’d prefer a 24 hour timer where I can break it into a couple chunks with sleep in between.

The pay goes to your PayPal as USD, then you can have it transferred to your bank. PP does the exchange to deposit CAD.

When the threshold was lower, PayPal was required to send 1099-k forms, but now a person has to make $25k or something before PayPal is required to issue a tax slip. DA does not issue anything.

Bank of America has an email 2FA that I can use without a US phone and using an international address isn’t an issue with them or my life insurance company. Social security sends mail internationally also.
