Watching these outclassed nepo-babies finally have to face a reality they can't lie their way out of, would be enjoyable if they weren't destroying the whole planet in the process

Boiling water is always the same temperature. A "rolling boil" has bigger bubbles than a "gentle boil" because the water is turning to steam faster, but the temperature is the same. Put your cold water on the stove and turn the burner to max until the water boils. Then when you add the food you may need to turn it down a little bit just so the pot doesn't splash (that's a "boil over")
You can ruin boiled food by leaving it in too long - not because the water is too hot. My mom would boil broccoli into goo and then wonder why we didn't want to eat it

Carbon steel. The cooking surface of carbon steel will feel similar to cast iron but the lighter pans are more responsive to burner changes. I have both and use each for different tasks

Nora itself is kind of boring. But it puts you close to Carmel, Broad Ripple, Castleton, etc. It's a good home base. Nook Nine is a really nice property. I don't like the vibe in Lawrence at all

"Color equals flavor." The mahogany crust of a well cooked steak. The golden brown delicious of a perfect batch of French fries. Just the right amount of brown on a batch of oven-roasted vegetables. If it looks good, it is good. This is why we sear meats before we braise them.
"Salt/Fat/Acid/Heat" is a good rule. If a dish tastes off, it's missing one of these. A corollary to is this "salt makes food taste more like itself." This is true even for sweets
Don't be afraid to make mistakes. I ruined some really beautiful steaks before I learned how to cook them properly. I threw away an entire Spanish tortilla because the bottom was burnt when the center was still raw. Throw it away, order a pizza, and try again
