By 'alot of places' I assume you mean Temple Bar. Outside of there you'll pay 5.20-5.70 in Dublin City. The most Ive paid for a Guinness was €6 in the Church Bar.

Not one country recognised it up until the Treaty negotiations.
Not quite true, the Soviets did!

As a result public sector average pay is 40%
Source? Most public sector workers are CO/EO which is 23/30k respectively.

Really excellent book, a real page turner.

The Poor Mouth is also a very funny read.

Not many who were on the (then) record number of trolleys would agree with you that's for sure.

Your Uber Eats delivery people are driving? La de dah.

South Down is their best bet at a pickup. South Belfast is a toss up though if Sinn Féin run, could go to anyway.

For the love of God, don't do Arts as a stop-gap.
I completely disagree. Arts is a 3 year degree in most places. Most other courses are 4. With an arts degree you'll get into a masters in multiple areas. I'd say do the arts degree and then do a masters in what you want after.

I'm taking from this post that his grandson his Irish.

Yes. I think the origin is when coffins for wakes were placed on the kitchen table. Such an act was see as disrespectful in that context.

I worked in TK Maxx about a decade ago and we weren't allowed to sell these to under 18s. Ditto with knifes.

much of SF's support is capricious and could be tempted away by a(nother?) populist movement which promises more radical change;
I don't think this is a threat to them. PBP offer a more radical populist message and SF are eating them alive. People who vote for populist reasons want to back the winner, the main leader of the government in waiting. Nobody is going to surpass SF in that role this election cycle.

The membership voted for Coveney.

Charles Townsend is brilliant. The Republic is my favourite by him.
The Resurrection of Hungary is great on the same time period by Michael Laffin.

It was OK in my mind. Couldn't hold a candle to Insurrection RTÉs original from 66.

I ordered one, paid like 15 quid and An Post tried to have me pay the same to them in taxes and charges. I wasn't bothered so assume they've sent it back.

Soccer. Football is Gaelic football to me and I would imagine that applies to most people outside the Pale.

I usually sit downstairs, it's not that loud down there and is a nicer atmosphere I find.

Doyle's, Mulligans, Palace Bar, Cassidys (O'Connell Bridge), ONeills, Grogans, Lord Edward, Against the Grain, Whelans, Darkey Kelly's.
Variety of reasons for all, mainly atmosphere related. Mulligans, Grogans, Palace Bar and Lord Edward do excellent Guinness. Darkey Kelly's and ONeills have good trad and food. Cassidys and Against the Grain are good for craft beer. Doyle's and Whelans are just good solid spots, both with late bar licences that offer a nightclub like experience if you want it without needing to go to a nightclub.

I didn't know you were on reddit Leo.

Had the exact same thing with a dermotologist years ago. Had to get see her 3 times for renewals of prescriptions which involved me walking in, her handing me a prescription and me handing her €150 each time (not to mention the cost of the medicine itself).

OP that I replied to suggested that there was a totalitarian conspiracy to all this. The reply from you appears that you believe this to be the case in that context. There's nothing totalitarian about the EU having a common design uniformity for vaccine certs that are already issued (and required for entry to many countries) by member states.

Anyone who has ever been to Africa or Asia is aware of the existence of such certs. The only people arguing otherwise are those who have yet to leave their hometown nevermind the island.
It's not surprising that FG claim Collins. That doesn't make it historically correct however.
