The authors of these series use it, but never actually put in the effort to make them work in a way that makes sense for the characres involved. Most of the time its just a way to have the cake and eat it too.

In the case of Rudeus, what he does its just cheating, and nothing else. Sylphy as a character disappears the moment it happened. The gymnastics to justify that cheating on your pregnant wife, especially after a whole romance arc its just unjustifieble.

Its only moral because the author wants to make it so, technically is moral, but I think its unnecessary and a bit disappointing from the author's part
