That happened to me just now. But after I took the picture outdoors with sunlight, it went through!

CoderSchmoder

Is that you Zuckerberg?

CoderSchmoder

Ooh I love those combo

I went to RaceTrac in Dallas. I wanted to buy an energy drink which I rarely do. A can of C4 or Red Bull was $3.49! What???

I don't understand the rationale for changing a well-known brand name. It's like changing the name of McDonald's to Marty's.

CoderSchmoder

Can't stand the way he speaks - over-pronouncing every word.

I agree. It's not the content. People are putting out good stuff(except the obviously AI generated stuff).

I think it's how these contents are presented. It's the layout of the platform. The user interface. I love Reddit because of how things are categorized by "subreddits". I love Spotify because of how things are categorized and color coded.

But Substack... I find myself using it less and less. I like tech articles and i find that Reddit has better content. Heck even YouTube has better engagment.

Google is part of FAANG and Magnificent 7 tech companies with massive profit in a diversified business. Their executives sleep well at night.

CoderSchmoder

Yes, i agree. I only open it when i want to know what's the latest on something.

Because the U.S. cares so much about the Japanese economy and people.

This is a wartime reorganization - battle is fierce at the moment against OpenAI, Anthropic, and Chinese companies. Demis moving to being chief scientists allows him to focus on AGI research instead of running a massive organization at Google. Jeff Dean leaving after almost 30 years at Google is a much much bigger news - I do think that Jeff just wants to focus on his AI startup called Discovery Loop which aims to accelerate research on machine learning among other things. Sure he can do these things at Google but having free reign in his own company probably is the impetus of him calling it quits.

While I agree that Google is falling behind LLM benchmarks, historically speaking DeepMind has always optimized for research breakthroughs(AlphaGo, AlphaFold, AlphaGeometry, etc.) rather than leaderboard chasing. Gemini seems optimized for a different mix of capabilities. I feel like Google is not even trying to rank in benchmarks because of how broad its business portfolio, so being #1 on a math benchmark is not as important as it is with OpenAI or Anthropic - two AI companies whose business depends on having the strongest public-facing model.

CoderSchmoder

Because it's an American tech company. A Chinese AI company committing the same "mistake" will be deemed cybercrime.

CoderSchmoder

Competition is good.

So glad I'm not the only one. I have a blog and on random days I have ""C0ntinue" ads showing up everywhere on my site! When you click on it, it takes you to a malicious page and freezes you entire computer! My blog is repo'ed on GitHub, and nobody could have inserted a malicious code in my repo without my approval. It couldn't have been a malware on my PC, because this is a strictly-controlled work PC.

So, yes, Google is pushing a malicious ads on my blog site.

I was about to pay the $15 subscription, but I decided not to. I'm afraid, I will get that error too as a paid user. Like one poster said, if I can't even use the free chat for simple task, why would I pay for it?

CoderSchmoder

OK, I will try the "Question" option as you guys suggested. THANKS!!!

I never had a problem with Deepseek and Openrouter. I use Roocode. Maybe it's Hermes?
