Heartforge is not a VTT, it is more of a companion app for DMs. You can input maps and even set up encounters, but you cannot share them live, it’s more of a personal reference.

Easy. Let the bard go on his merry way, but his friends aren’t free to leave. Roll initiative.

I ran that and it still didn’t work.

Moho's spec sheet says 14.5 will run as far back as MacOS 10.15, I have Big Sur 11.7

Of course you like to use it, it’s an amazing word, even just to look at.

But humans can continue to eradicate species after species with impunity?

Sounds like you are playing with casuals and it sounds like you look down on them for not making the game a central part of their life. They want a fun, breezy game and you, knowing their skill level, are trying to create a character that completely overshadows them.

Calling their homebrew “shitty”, acting like rolled eyes or looking at you “like you called them names” is an unwarranted offence against you rather than a reaction to you. Saying they know fuck all, making fun of other’s playstyles… then suggesting building the dumbest character ever is the only way you can imagine stooping to their level of gameplay.

You may consider them your friends, but if you spoke about me like you speak about them, I wouldn’t consider you my friend.

I believe strongly that you are misunderstanding Chaotic Evil.

Avoiding action to avoid consequence isn’t chaotic. Chaotic Evil thrives on causing pain and loss, and they don’t modify their actions by believing someone “deserves it” or “it’s justified”. That is morality, the antithesis of chaos. They don’t avoid conflict because they think it will cause problems or, more pointedly… disorder. That is foresight, another antithesis of chaos.

Yes, in practice, Chaotic Evil basically means stupid. You act on greed, hate and bloodlust. You don’t plan ahead or consider the fallout of your actions. It makes for terrible roleplay because you are not a red dragon who, by might alone, are essentially immune to consequences. You have to be nearly a force of nature to be Chaotic, or you have to bend to the rules in some fashion, and you are definitely following rules, both internal and external. You are Neutral, leaning Lawful Evil.

Turning around and clotheslining the kids after they’ve already seized the scooter? Seems excessive, but I’ll allow it.

Nook, a Wayfinder Ranger Goblin made for Beast Feast, who’s a shoemaker at the Cobblin’ Goblin in Elmore, had “These Boots Were Made For Walking” which added to traversal. She’s hoping to find odd creature parts that aid in that aspect, like spider spinnerettes for web slinging or a buoyancy organ in creatures that float in the air so she can make double-jump boots.

My bard had Silvery Barbs, it was part of a roster of feats and spells that made him a luck powerhouse. But of all the probability changing abilities he had, SB was the one that made the game the least fun for the DM. He never complained outwardly, but the sigh, or the dejected pause while he waited for me to nullify his crit told me enough. I asked him if I could trade it for another spell, and he was confused but definitely happier after. I missed having such a useful and thematic spell but I didn’t want to be the one that bummed out any other player.

It isn’t as bad as people say it is. People on the Internet are drama queens. Either that or they are business owners trying to curry even more favour.

This seems less like advice needed and more like a Reddit Horror Short Story.

I think a lot of people are disappointed in what happened when Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo became FanExpo. Just a lot less effort altogether, and so many vendors now skip it entirely. Remember the t-shirt tower? The ticket hall used to be full of vendors as well. It was difficult to schedule all the panels you wanted to get to because there were 8-10 panels happening at any given time.

It’s definitely lost its soul, I didn’t even go this year.

Don’t be so dramatic, we have four seasons:

Construction

Second Constructions

Pumpkin Spice Construction

Winter.

A countdown isn’t a formula, it is the world works, on a schedule. The bad guy is planning something that requires X amount of time to enact. The guards make their rounds every X number of minutes, the blacksmith requires X days to craft the new sword. It’s timing.
A countdown automates nothing, it informs the players so they can make choices. Sometimes it’s a deadline, sometimes it’s not. But a countdown die doesn’t make choices. It creates urgency.
