If you have Photoshop, and you have an image, you could posterize it to two colors, then turn it into a bitmap, experimenting with the bitmap density until you get what you want.

You can probably find a thing online that will either do it for you online, or a script/plug-in.

The characters are meaningless. I guess one is Holmes. But I have no idea what the game is about or any of its details.

The weapon concept could be carried over into the text, with it being filled with bullet holes or replacing some character with a bullet.
