I forgot that could be done. I’ve set the alert in my Dex, so I’ll see what happens. Thank you very much!

ColeSimons2000

I didn’t realize that, I’ll have to try it out! Thank you!

This link is awesome! I’ve known about Leek Duck but I get super confused navigating the website. Thank you so much!

ColeSimons2000

I have the research, but sadly no party. I’m hoping that might change if I go to a local raid meetup on Saturday and connect with other players irl. That’s super helpful to know though, thank you!

ColeSimons2000

I’m guessing higher because I randomly encountered a shiny Pumpkaboo and got a shiny Sinestea after a raid battle

ColeSimons2000

It seems pretty simple to me. Dragonite went to Bramblin jail. 🚨

Lol this was the first encounter I got opening Pokémon Go again after posting here

Why have they removed the little model trains in the mockup!? What have they ever done to anyone!? 😭

ColeSimons2000

Ok, but how does it compare to Long Connecticut?

Jomboy put out a thorough video exploring this a while ago and I do believe it’s the best past forward following expansion. He uses Salt Lake City & Nashville as expansion teams, but the concept still works (insert choice rumored city: Charlotte, Montreal, Raleigh, Portland, San Antonio, Vancouver etc).

He structures a 156-game regular season season and splits the American and National League into two divisions of eight teams as followed:

AL East:
BAL, BOS, CHW, CLE, DET, NYY, TBR, TOR

AL West:
ATH, HOU, KCR, LAA, MIN, SEA, SLC (Salt Lake City), TEX

NL East:
ATL, CIN, MIA, NAS (Nashville), NYM, PHI, PIT, WAS

NL West:
ARI, CHC, COL, LAD, MIL, SDP, SFG, STL

The only adjustments I might make from Jomboy is using a 12-team playoff format (vs 16 teams) with the current WC/DS/CS format and I’m not sure if fans would be totally on board with 1st-half & 2nd-half winners like they’ve implemented in the MiLB (personally I think it’s cool, but it may be too much change at once).

I’d also switch the Astros and Brewers back to NL/AL like when they were first established. It’s always bothered me that Texas’ crosstown rivalry wasn’t AL/NL like in NY/CHI/LA, so I think having the Astros back in the NL would allow fans to see both leagues and ‘balance’ game opportunities for fans in TX.

If only that Los Angeles team had some kind of trolley car or something…🚋⚾️

As a New England resident, I humbly implore you to include all six states (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, & VT) in your projected annexation by Canada. The Hartford Convention makes it ok I think lol.

The fight over pulling funding from Shoreline East because it’s unprofitable is so stupid. The fact is it won’t be a profitable line until they return to a full schedule and/or they expand to destinations beyond New London. While the corridor now essentially serves as a commuter line to/from NYC, there’s so much potential for this line to service tourist destinations (Westerly for RI beaches, Mystic for various), college/military (Groton), Mohegan (Norwich?), Rocky Neck State Park?), and connections to RIdot/MBTA (Westerly).

I think politicians forget how these ventures are only as profitable as they are useful for folks. The line saw dramatic success in the 90s because folks no longer had to sit in traffic on I-95 and the understanding was that the line would eventually grow.

Personally, I dream of riding the train for day trips to Mystic or ride-sharing to an RI beach without sitting in traffic or paying for parking. I also think the impact for local communities will be huge since it can bring folks from farther away with less barrier of entry (ex, New Yorkers looking to vacation without a car).

Finally, I’ve been a rider of the Hartford Line for a long time and have seen its success before/after the pandemic based on the strength of its connections. I primarily rode the line for UConn Hartford when I was still in undergrad, now I ride for events at Peoplesbank Arena & Dunkin’ Park. It’s so much easier to ride/pregame, walk, and rest on the way back rather than have a headache looking/paying for parking and sitting in traffic to travel back. I also knew tons of college kids who went to school in Mass that would ride from Springfield and back with ease. Plus, there’s continued funding going into adding and maintaining stations, train cars, and hopefully adding a second line to the corridor and electrifying the tracks.

Hartford station is a huge question mark, and I’m shocked that no one’s proposed an ‘air train’ similar to the LIRR-Jamaica-JFK connection for Bradley, but CT has a long history with rail and can once again dominate the region by listening to what riders want and figuring out how to invest in its future, not killing its own train lines.

I have to imagine that even though he retired so long ago Jackie Robinson is still an icon and role model for so many people. He wore the Dodger blue, but retired as a Dodger specifically before the team left for LA. Thus, the ‘B’ cap & Brooklyn uniform is forever associated with him regardless of the era.

Furthermore, Robinson was technically traded to the New York Giants before announcing his retirement, which many saw as an act of wanting to remain a career Brooklyn Dodger.

I would love to see more love for labor and social history (stories of those who advocated for the Everyman). The popular choice would be a new biopic of Woody Guthrie (riding off the coattails of A Complete Unknown with Dylan & Seeger, and arguably Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere).

However, Eugene Debs would get an immense amount of love during our current sociopolitical time. He was an immensely important figure advocating for US labor unions and experienced blacklisting/censorship right at the start of the red scare (and well before the Cold War). I feel that he’s conveniently omitted from what Americans learn in school and so much of what he did with the IWW and the early American socialist movement is still valuable to present day.

I liked how it was before the balanced schedule: basically one crosstown/regional rival matchup (Mets) and a series against teams in one NL Division (East, Central, or West). It doesn’t completely screw up each league, it still keeps the World Series matchup exciting, and it allows fans to get something new every 3 years. Jomboy pitched something similar for when the league expands to 32 teams (since a fully-balanced schedule by then would be much more difficult to execute).

While we need a ‘C.C. 2.0’ to pair with Giancarlo’s soul patch, I think the next natural progression would be Wells trying to get benched with side burns like Mattingly. He could even go full Civil War general with the mutton chops!

ColeSimons2000

Honestly this is the best and most straightforward redesign I’ve seen for MA that has rich history and symbolism. I feel like this would instantly become one of the best state flags!

They’ve had past successes in Hamden and New Britain and I know I would support a DSA candidate if they ran in my town. I just don’t see the clearest path for the DSA with the dominance of CT Dems, even if candidates sought co-endorsements like the Working Families Party. Despite many moderate policies, CT Dems are still further left-leaning than a lot of the country, which might hinder the DSA’s progress in the state.

That said, younger folks entering politics for council seats could probably see similar successes in New Haven and Hartford counties to start growth toward larger-scale future success. Fairfield county will be difficult given their affluence and power over the political bureaucracy (just look at the gubernatorial race…our past two governors have been from Greenwich & Stamford).

ColeSimons2000

I hope it’ll be easier for folks from CT to get to East Rutherford once the new Penn Station connection to Metro-North is fully complete (I strongly prefer the train ride to driving in traffic). As it is now it’s so much work to ride to GCT, subway/walk to NJT at Penn, all to transfer to the shuttle train at Secaucus and repeat in reverse after the event.

I guess that’s the trade-off for having the Yankee Clipper that goes directly to Yankees-153rd, or a relatively easy MTA transfer at Harlem-125th.

ColeSimons2000

My only critique is Libby’s stays open until 8p most of the week and 10p Fri/Sat, versus Lucibello’s only staying open until 5p every day except Sunday (when they close at 2p). That makes it difficult to get dinner and dessert afterwards. 😢

If it’s like other team giveaways, it’ll be a bobblehead designed to look like a baseball card. The front will have a clear window, the back will have a mock layout like a baseball card (I’d say ‘stats’ but I don’t George canonically has any?), and the bobblehead is intended to stay in the box to give it a ‘3D effect.’ It’s a cool concept, but George likely won’t have legs if you plan to take him out of the box.
