Genocide in Timor Leste and terrorism in Singapore and Malaysia

I've tested it with a friend's charger and there is no difference

CommunistBall

Same as Malaysia

CommunistBall

Unfortunately not. Currently it is off with a solid orange light on the side,

CommunistBall

It is turned on, orange and blue

Honestly, I do get your point that there are hundreds of millions of Muslim out there that identify as Muslim and see it as a pivotal part of their identity. But I, as a ex Muslim shouldn't have to be wary about which Muslims I interact with because I never know who may see it negatively. It's hard to see it in a different light knowing that there may be millions who support the deaths of people like me.

CommunistBall

Even then, if you are an ethnic Malay in Malaysia, you are by law required to be Muslim which effectively forces you to be Muslim.

CommunistBall

I said Malaysia has made it practically impossible for any Muslims to leave the religion, not that they mandate every citizen be a Muslim.

However, in the Maldives, the only religion allowed is Islam. Please improve your reading.

Yes, I would but you are able to cut those away from Communism in general. I am aware that communist groups such as the Shining Path have committed horrendous war crimes but it is not instructed in the Communist Manifesto or other communist theory that it supports cannibalism or the murder of innocent children even if did happen in real before.

However, the Quran says things such as cursing Christians and Jews, calling for apostates to be killed and allowing the beating of women.

Islam is more organised than Communism in the current times.

CommunistBall

Yes but Islam is the reason that these systems are in place in those countries. If it was just about leaving religion, they would apply those laws to every religion but no, it is just Islam. They would happily accept a Christian who wants to convert to Islam.

I agree it's not the majority of Muslims who are evil woman beating terrorists but there is a significant number who aren't so far from that line seeing that many Muslims still support those practices in oppressive laws even if they don't support terrorism.

CommunistBall

True but we cannot ignore that the identity that they identify as is also responsible for many problems going on. Problems that some of those Muslims would defend or support such as the oppression of Women and Girls, the oppression of apostates, and the treatment of other religions. Is cultural identity more important than the lives of many millions of people?

It is also more than so called cultural identity because some people would harm others in the name of this belief.

Many Muslims do acknowledge those but would rather ignore it or gently sweep it aside and pick and choose which of Islam they would like to keep.

CommunistBall

Can you change your skin colour later? Is that how it works?

CommunistBall

True, but you can choose to leave it or convert to it. You can't convert or leave a skin colour, and many religions accept that people would leave it but in many Muslim countries, there are laws prohibiting that, punishing apostates with jail or even death.

It's like not being able to choose your own name because it is given to you when you were born but being able to change it later if you want to.

I know that there are families and religions that strongly discourage it but it is not on the same level as Muslim countries that mandate every citizen must be Muslim or that it is a crime to leave.

CommunistBall

A group of people who are born naturally with the same features is different from a group of people that choose to belief the same ideas.

CommunistBall

You don't have a choice over your own skin colour. Having black skin does not make someone oppress other people in the name of their own skin colour too. Muslim in many countries in the name of Islam have created systems that oppress those who try to leave the religion, LGBTQ+, and those of other religions. Even if many Muslims to disagree with those laws, there are still many who support these laws and systems.

CommunistBall

When did I say that? There are many good Muslims but there is definitely a significant amount of Muslims who put the system in place or are calling for a harsher system which I dislike but more than that I am going to hate Islam for even raising people to be like that.

CommunistBall

Yeah but guess how many countries of other religion treat it as a crime? Zero.

The only countries that treat it as a crime are Muslim.

CommunistBall

Christianity has nothing to do with this poll. Yes, some people may not know what Islam is but many people know how it is used throughout the world. You are not Muslim nor formerly a Muslim, you do not know how it is to know that in multiple countries, you can be jailed or killed for trying to leave Islam.

I doubt you live in a Muslim country at all, of course, there are many good Muslims but trying to make it that anyone who sees Islam negatively as subhuman is just a result of your privileged background.

CommunistBall

It's not generalising when multiple Muslim countries mandate that every citizen must be Muslim and apply legal penalties to those who try to leave the religion. Even without that, countries like Malaysia made it practically impossible for any Muslim to leave the religion. Of course not every Muslim supports religious violence but many support oppressive laws in the name of Islam.

CommunistBall

No, it doesn't matter if there a is a foolproof legal process to prove that a Muslim apostatized. It's just apostasy shouldn't be a crime at all, no matter what religion says so.
