Everything is so wrapped up in irony these days that things are simultaneously ironic and unironic. People will say “this person I don’t like is an Israeli pedophile” and might not even believe it but act like they do cause they find the idea of acting that way funny

Gonna start posting my thoughts here as I’m having them since I’m listening to it in chunks at work

Part 1-3 were really gripping and I think I’m growing to love this style of horror where things are largely kept unknown but sprinkled with details that nake it more and more creepy as time goes on. And this is quite creepy.

That being said, the intro to part 4 is immediately pulling me out. At first it was difficult to tell if this Chawed Froy guy was a more realistic or paranormal threat and it was kind of implying both which added a lot to the horror, but now it’s leaning into this kind of skinwalker angle in a really boring way which makes this feel more run of the mill as time goes on. I hope I’m just interpreting it wrong though, we’ll see.

I wanna overanalyse this for a second

It’s honestly an interesting look into Donnie’s character, from a story perspective. I feel like a big theme of his story has been the contrast between his good hearted nature and violence as an extension of his desire for success. He will do anything for his friends the same way he will do anything for money. Maybe two sides of the same coin, the desire to live a good life.

And often we see him reflect on these things subtly. For example, the paintings he made of him pointing at the viewer, which he described as a mirror of himself, reflecting on who he is, and the subsequent series of paintings including one splattered with blood as the opposing reflection, and one where he grows distant from that blood splattered painting. Donnie is a man of two sides, both jolly and capable of extreme violence and depravity, both of which he’s aware of and almost comfortable with.

And this poem could be a subtle reflection of that. He looks upon his life with some pride, seeing all he’s built up. He’s proud of it, but it comes with pain: the coffee is made in fire, it stings, it stains him. He’s made mistakes in his life, hurt people, built his success off of hurting people and chaos. Perhaps he wishes he could start over sometimes: go back, fix those mistakes. He wonders if his life even truly mattered to those around him in the end.

But in the end, he’s proud. Because through it all, for better or for worse, he lived his way. He made something of himself, and he’s still living, and there’s still work to do, so he continues to live. For himself, and for his friends.

My new headcanon is that a lot of the combine weaponry on earth is uniquely integrated with human brains so they can better understand and combat humans, and that weaponry on different worlds is specialized for the target species in a similar fashion

What these rich people fail to realize is that they are destroying the very system that allowed them to be where they are in the first place

Without jobs, there’s no income. Without income, there’s no consumption. Without consumption, there’s no capitalism. Without capitalism, these megacorporations will have nowhere to expand to. Money will either freeze or rapidly move up to the top to the point nothing can be taken from the lower tiers of society anymore. The rich will exist as a seperate group away from typical society, no longer needing to rely on the lower classes for anything, which is the basis of most pre-modern societal structures.

The rich can’t do anything different since this is what the system of capitalism commands of people participating, but these commands are killing themselves

The more stuff this administration does the more I’m convinced it is driven by some sort of “cool factor.”

That whole “the government is 12 years old” theory thing feels more and more accurate every day. Our government is being driven by a hyper-macho, might makes right form of leadership which prioritizes outward expressions of toughness and strength over actual helpful policy. Things like the lake of Ontario or the Mexican gulf help these people reinforce the idea that America is this badass shot-caller that doesn’t take no for an answer and makes shit its own. A lot of like how trump views himself really. Trumpism seeks to turn America in the personification of ruthless capitalism and everything has been an extension of that

We as people are forgotten eventually but I like to think our influence exists forever. Like ripples causing ripples

Honestly my dysphoria only really picked up AFTER I started going by different pronouns and a different name with my friends. Like before hand I didn’t really think about it, or try to, but now that I’m actually doing it I realize how uncomfortable I’ve always been with myself

Personally I wish there was more variety in golems. The fight quickly gets boring after a few tries. Imagine if there were different golems for different magic types, like the default one is the gravity golem and there’s also a fire and electric golem. Maybe even mind and body golems, and even combination golems.
