Thanks, that makes sense. Of the requests in the tracker, which are must-haves for your family setup, and which would be nice to have?

ComplexIt

Hey, that was me—I wrote the earlier reply and opened the tracker. I removed the reply to double-check some technical details, then got caught up in the 2.0.0 release work. Sorry for the confusion and the slow follow-up.

Family hosting is important and your feedback is welcome. I opened the tracker to collect these feature requests for future consideration. There’s no release target or implementation commitment yet.

One caveat: the unencrypted fallback is intended for local testing only, with the limitations noted in the startup warning.

you could also use it with gemini api key

Have you tried Local Deep Research: https://github.com/LearningCircuit/local-deep-research . It is highly optimized for research. It can be configured to filter for Q1 journals etc. and achieves 95% on SimpleQA.

You can also try this to get more fitting searches https://github.com/LearningCircuit/local-deep-research (Disclaimer I am the maintainer)

I think LDR is exactly the tool that you are looking for u/AggressiveMention359 .

Generally, the tool is highly optimized for research. It contains a Journal Filter (detecting/filtering Q1 journals etc) and a search engines to find papers for example Open Alex and Arxiv).

We achieve 95% on Simple QA with the model that you mention as you can find more information about in this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1t1n6o8/we_are_finally_there_qwen3627b_agentic_search_957/

Repository and install instructions can be found here: https://github.com/LearningCircuit/local-deep-research

Installation is really easy we support docker hub images and pip.

Agree also since this seems to be a new benchmark the exact methodology and evaluation approach would also be needed to be shared. Currently, these results are not very intuitive.

I am the maintainer but i think it fits your use case quite well: https://github.com/LearningCircuit/local-deep-research
