It is my favorite menu item on the Delta First Class menu. When I can pick it, I do, and I never regret it. I'm particularly happy about the recent change to have thicker cuts of the condiments too. It makes the burger even better!

Complimentary upgrades to Delta Comfort/Comfort+ exists for international flights, but that's it.

I personally consider the Delta A330-900neo better than the KLM B787-10, all things being equal.

Conan_Kudo

The Delta operated flight has slightly better amenities than the KLM operated one (particularly if you're on an Airbus A330-900neo). You'll have free Wi-Fi and slightly roomier economy seats. However, if the Delta flight is a Boeing 767-300ER, you may want the KLM flight if it's on a Boeing 787 instead.

The CRJ planes were just upgraded last month. I was just on two such CRJ trips and had the "new" Wi-Fi that is similar to the mainline jets.

Conan_Kudo

This always shows up when you are logged in, regardless of status level.

Conan_Kudo

I like the chicken too. It's usually what I go for.

When I flew JFK-BER, it was a 764. Sad that it's a 763 now. Delta One on a 764 is pretty decent.

That said, to Delta's credit, they've been trying to get replacements for the 767 fleet for years. Airbus kept having delays for deliveries, which forced them to make a Dreamliner (787) order, but that won't start deliveries until 2031 (unless Delta somehow jumps ahead of the queue as rumored...).

I was just on a pair of regional flights (DTW-YYZ, YYZ-LGA) and Delta Sync Wi-Fi was present. I was able to watch an episode of My Hero Academia on Netflix through it just fine.

Conan_Kudo

To be honest, hard agree. Every time I do a long enough C+ flight, I buy one as an onboard meal.

Conan_Kudo

I can't use this at all. Why not just give more hotel or airline credit?

Conan_Kudo

You should absolutely complain to Delta. There's a form for this. Log into your Delta SkyMiles account, select your itinerary, and give a detailed report and request a response. In my experience, they usually get back to you within a couple of business days.

Conan_Kudo

At least in my case, if I got Diamond, I would want it simply to add buffer for the next year. This also presumes I can't request GUCs and RUCs twice. But I would consider the MQD accelerator boost to be valuable enough to seriously consider it.

While many people here will give you snark for earning Delta Silver Medallion status, I will tell you that I was a Silver Medallion member for many years before my travel patterns evolved into giving me Gold, then Platinum. I got a lot out of my Silver status:

  • Complimentary upgrades happened a fair bit for me on my trips to see family.
  • SkyPriority on international trips came in clutch in many screwy situations, particularly when forced into narrow layover windows.
  • Free checked bags saved me serious money because intra-European flights on AFKLM can be on regional jets that don't fit my bags, and thus have to be checked.
  • Preferred seats for free are nice too. 😄

You not being located at a major hub just makes it work even better.

Conan_Kudo

It's not supposed to, I think. But it has happened for me every single time this year, and because of that, I have one dangling RUC from the experience. I need to figure out how to use it before it expires... 😅

Conan_Kudo

At least to me, the MQD boost would make the most sense.

Conan_Kudo

I have started calling instead because I'll book main + RUC, and the RUC gets unapplied automatically when the complimentary upgrade to Delta Comfort gets processed. As long as there is inventory of some kind for upgrade certificates, a RUC will work even if it says there's only inventory for a GUC. The customer support agent on the phone will fix you up nicely.

I just did this for a JFK-SEA trip at the end of this month. I booked it only a couple weeks ago and it still worked, even if it took a few days for the RUC to clear the waitlist.

For me, where status matters, I have the Amex Plat, the Delta Amex Plat, and the Delta Amex Reserve. My flights are booked on the Amex Plat for 5X Amex points, and my Delta Stays are booked on the Delta Amex cards to take advantage of the credits. I book on Delta Stays opportunistically so that I also get MQDs during promo windows (like the one going on right now!). This got me Gold status by March, Platinum status by June, and I'll (maybe) have Diamond status by EOY.

Conan_Kudo

Yeah, it's a fantastic benefit. The automatic upgrade to Delta Comfort applies to all flights, both domestic and international.

Conan_Kudo

Yes. Basically, you book your ticket in Main Classic/Extra, then once the booking is complete, you go and do seat selection and select a Delta Comfort seat. It does not invalidate your request to upgrade to Delta First, and I have had flights upgrade to First after getting Delta Comfort complimentary status upgrades.

I'm normally shade down (except for when I want pics of takeoff and landing), but if someone actually did this to me, I will put the window up and keep it up the whole time, just to be spiteful. Reaching over and just doing it? Heck no, that's inconsiderate on multiple levels.

Conan_Kudo

DL-AM JV has been reinstated. They've been reworking earning and redemptions since the unwind order was vacated last month.

The first batch of updates went out late last week.

File a complaint with Delta about it, then they have an opportunity to make it right: https://www.delta.com/us/en/need-help/overview?commentComplaintsForm

I'm curious whether I can/should submit a complaint
