Wow. Thats pretty amazing

Cook_croghan

You’re wrong. You are literally referencing a meme to back up your fear of being rejected.

Your friend is very VERY nicely saying “Just go for it dude. If she says no, then you got your answer. If she’s an asshole about it, then you got your answer AND dodged a bullet. If she says yes, that’s great. You are only gonna know if you ask and the rest of what you’re talking about doesn’t matter and is kinda insecure BS you’re reading into too much.”

You keep overthinking it. Ask and then accept the answer and move forward.

Side note-If it’s a no, don’t be an asshole. No matter what they say, if you react with any negativity, it’s gonna blow back on you socially and be negative for you and the way you view the interaction in the long run. Also, try NOT to ask about liking/not liking social media posts to the person. Just accept sometimes people interact and sometimes they don’t, it’s not that deep.

It doesn’t matter what the school counts as full time. The VA makes the call on if your credit hours qualifies as full time, which 99% of the time is 12 credit hours per semester.

Since you are on a year round accelerated program, you are doing less credits per semester, but doing more credits per year. VA doesn’t take that into account. They only really look at 1 semester and the credits per that specific semester. They don’t look at the program as a whole. The only time I have heard they tweak this is for Doctoral programs such as MD or JD.

In addition, who you talk to at the VA can’t change anything around for you, their hands are tied by law. Explaining your year round schedule literally changes nothing, because the person you’re explaining it to can’t change anything.

It’s just how the VA program is set up. Nothing you can do except take more classes per semester. That’s it. If that’s not allowed in your school program, then you’re stuck at 75% until you graduate.

dude, HOW

Obama is around 6-1/6-2, Abdul is like 5-9/5-10.

Obama is tall, Abdul is normal sized.

And then the gay panic of the 80’s happened that showed gay men in outfits like that, so when people saw men in more revealing outfits they equated it to homosexual culture. I’m not sure what you’re missing here….

When I was 7 in 93’, i thought crop tops were for big manly men because we had some action movie on vhs that I would sneak watch.

I wore one to a basketball practice and I was told by the coach not to wear it anymore because “F**s with aids wear that shit” by the coach.

It absolutely changed how men dress from tighter more revealing clothing to big baggy clothes that cover everything.

When Trump was begged by members of his administration and the Republican party that protestors were armed and chanting death threats, Trump literally told secret service and military members “I don't f— care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me. Take the f— mags away. Let my people in.”. It was huge news and well sourced. You are correct.

You- “I made your Dad buy them for me after I pegged him. Fuck off”

Then go about your day unbothered.

I work with a lot of individuals from post colonial African countries, such a Ghana.

Many of them have a long political history of “Strong” militaristic leaders consolidating power and overthrowing an oppressive government comes from removing the colonial powers that were incredibly exploitative and abusive to the actual citizens.

So statements such as “REAL citizens” or “TRUE citizens” culturally have real world weight, generationally, for many of these individuals. For example Ghana was run by The British Empire, until 1957, and was a colony of the Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Sweden, and even Germany before for literally hundreds of years. Discussions of the threat of foreign invaders coming to “assimilate” or “helping economically” and actually taking over a government and people actually happened to the Ghanaians. Not 200 years ago, but current living Ghanaians who are someone’s current parent or grand parent today.

Since then, western political influence has punished political leaders in the African region through assassination and political overthrow who attempted non-violent reforms.Specifically leaders who advocated for financial independence from western powers. Again with Ghana, their first prime ministers survived several deadly assassination attempts in the 60’s and they had multiple public military executions in the 1970’s. This included a direct CIA plot in 1966 to overthrow Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s Prime Minister. This has been declassified and I’ve linked the information below of how the CIA decided to move forward in 1962 with the overthrow:

https://history.state.gov/historicaldocuments/frus1961-63v21/d246

So after centuries of foreign rule, and then decades of foreign actors destabilizing their country with leaders who speak of non-violent change being killed or exiled, many former colonial African’s simply do not trust non-natives or “across the aisle” politicians.

The outcome is the school of thought that “weak” leaders let the country down, compromise is how citizens get exploited, and foreign individuals are not to be trusted. These leaders and foreign individuals will exploit the country and sell away the citizens future and Africans have seen it before, literally.

I want to be clear, I despise Trump. It is also difficult for me to understand any individual who supports him or his policies. However, I do think it is important to understand how foreign policy can affect national politics and how the systematic exploitation of a people and their nation can shift the general populous towards facism. Specifically “Real vs Fake” citizen rhetoric.

Certain scenes in Man on Fire literally give me a headache. I’m so happy that the 20-teens shaky cam, color distortion stuff is over.

I do not care for modern Custodies.

For the first 30 years they were super mysterious personal guards and even old friends of the Emperor, wore leather outfits with no shirts and crazy helmets, and literally never left the inner sanctum of the place, much less earth, due to perpetually silently guarding and mourning the loss of the Emperor. Like

Now they are just another super faction with their own goals rather than an enduring symbol of crumbling humanity clutching to the past.

On a family vacation a guy at the same hotel had a metal prosthetic leg. My little toddler sister saw this and excitedly pointed and yelled “ITS INSPECTOR GADGET!” And off she ran, full speed, to give him a hug and say hi.

Cook_croghan

Oh…yea, na. Thanks though👍

Cook_croghan

Could be. I don’t know what that is. Any link i could read up on it?

The running before and after lifting will help with getting shredded and vascular for sure.👍. Give it a try. Worst that happens is after 6 weeks you don’t like it and try something else.

Cook_croghan

Put a 1km Intermittent run before and after your lift, only 5-7 minutes based on your km time. Jog/sprint/jog/sprint. It’ll get your heart rate where it needs to be to burn calories your whole workout, but you won’t have to run for 20 minutes straight. If you do it to start and end every workout, that’s 8-10km a week without any long runs.

You have to go right from running to lifting and right from lifting to running though. The first month or so, you’ll be a little weaker, but your body will get used to it and the fatigue won’t be so bad during your lift. When I do this I get pretty ripped in about two to three months and maintain my strength.

Obviously if you’re going for as much strength as possible, don’t do this, but I’ve found it’s a good balance as someone who hates long runs that affect my strength training.

Ah! Absolute banger of a classic comes to mind;

It depends on a lot of things. Namely, What VA hospital you will use, as care quality access can fluctuate wildly at different hospitals.

If you are 100% service connected, you should at minimum be registered in the system and do a yearly check-up there. This way anything not covered by your primary insurance will then be pushed to your VA insurance and save you money if the VA will cover it.

If you are not 100% and have to pay, it may be worth signing up and using the VA system for a year (While keeping you normal insurance if needed) to see how you and your family like your local VA and their attitude toward community care.

One VA hospital refused to give community care referrals, so I switched and went to another VA and now my dental, vision, orthopedic surgeon, and dermatologist are private practices 15 min from my house through the VA. My general surgeon is at my VA, but he’s great and the care has been phenomenal. I had a heart attack two years ago and everything was done at my local hospital and the VA covered everything, including 6-months of rehab, all community care, paid 0$.

The flip side is, I’ve seen other VA hospitals deny community care, downplay issues, have insane wait times, and generally be a nightmare.

There is no clear cut answer, however, imo it’s worth your families time and money to give it a chance to see if it’s for you, as long term it could save your family 10’s of thousands of dollars over the years. If it’s not, then you can just stop using it after a year and be out 1 or 2k, but now you know.

My family uses VA healthcare with my wife’s insurance as supplemental, but we have a great VA hospital in my area that has embraced community care for specialty work. We save about 6k a year because I was able to drop my insurance for my work. With the amount of services we use through the VA, we have saved hundreds of thousands due to severe issues, like my heart attack and my wife reconstructive knee and hip surgery. I’m 39 and she’s in her early 30’s.

TLDR:It’s worth giving it a shot to see if it works for your family.

Cook_croghan

As long as hygiene isn’t an issue:

My life got way WAY better when I began only valuing the opinion of people who judged me by my actions, rather than my appearance.

This is a good opportunity to be confident with yourself, even if others don’t like your esthetic choices. I would advise you not to engage or discuss your decision about your hair with your family any further.

Doom 2016. Specifically the DOGMA album (The whole game is broken into 3 albums officially)

Absolutely fucking insane what Mick Gordon did.

Cook_croghan

I was a boot came with multiple 17 year olds. Had a good buddy of mine in HS do bootcamp over the summer between his Junior and Senior year in HS. All it takes is a parent to sign off.

Cook_croghan

Exactly. Sleeves rolled up, helmets off, different routes, straight up not walking through obvious ambush points, on and on and on.

We straight up used to do 5 hour 10 click squad patrols that were really us two clicks away and us swimming in the Euphrates with an overwatch on hot summer days.

It’s a bunch of 19 year old high school drop outs, of course we are gonna try and get out of work constantly and fucking lie about it.

Cook_croghan

He would deep clean his whole room, including the coffee maker, like hand clean in the sink (We had the double suit rooms at Lejeune) then make the first “pot of the weekend” as he put it. The dude was a super squared away marine.

The 1sgt did it specifically to be a complete prick. I’m 41 and that guy was legitimately one of the worst human beings I’ve ever interacted with and legitimately got people killed (He was not allow to leave the main base on deployment due to just how incompetent he was). It’s been almost 20 years since I last interacted with him and it makes me happy to think about how his wife divorced him when she caught him cheating and then he died of a stroke within 2 years of getting pushed out of the Marine corps.
