funny sitting here watching the movie now

I want to get back into it but I've been a solo player for so long I really don't want to Branch out and start joining guilds again just to play and game content which is why I feel having family memberships would be great because then I can enjoy them with people that I am comfortable with

Crapicus

Absolutely they would have to definitely figure something out but that's above my pay grade

Crapicus

same way Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox do it 1 account for the household

Crapicus

because at some point the children will grow up and will have to move to their own account. once they get invested they have new account

Crapicus

Absolutely hopefully other people will find this thread and it will help them I'm also putting together a toolkit at takes care of all random updates and repairs that need to be done that eventually I will release

Crapicus

This seems to have fixed it. i have my 8gb card now set with a 7gb limit and after making your modification (booster) i actually reclaim memory while playing the game.

Crapicus

I wish not an option on the laptop since it's only a 3070 TI

Crapicus

Seems that way

Crapicus

Yeah I'm right there with you on both my pc's I am running cachy but on the main I need to dualboot windows so I can run fusion360 and dedicated anti cheat games

Crapicus

still better than winslop

Crapicus

yeah my main machine is a 9800Xd and a 9070XT and the issues dont exist, but i am trying to narrow the issues down I am feeling like it is a Nvidia issue because the card and graphics card an d cpu on the laptop should be able to handle this game easily

Crapicus

funny because I was running nobara for months until i started trying D4 again. everything suggested better performance by going to cachy (mostly because of lack of X11 nobara support) I havent had any issues like you had and the game runs fantastic. I had similar issues on nobara, but now i get the performance increase, so it is worth the tradeoff

Crapicus

nope

Crapicus

nano "Path to diablo installation folder" /Diablo IV/dxvk.conf

Use:

dxgi.maxDeviceMemory = 5120

dxgi.maxSharedMemory = 1024

And in Lutris:

VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv

These changes got me quite a bit more playtime at least with my 8GB card

Crapicus

i have been running textures on med/low

Crapicus

someone please include me in the DM

Crapicus

I got the exact same model that I traded a Mac mini from 2007 for + $75 definitely upgrade to PTM and thermal grizzly thermal putty I usually hover around 70 degrees on CPU and GPU unless I'm doing like heavy gameing

Crapicus

You are very welcome please keep us updated on how you make out

Unfortunately at this point you have very few options but I will make some suggestions primarily and most likely of getting a good repair I would reach out to Northwest repair he is a YouTuber that does high-end graphics cards and laptop repair it is possible that he can take it apart and see if anything is damaged or if it can be salvaged I trust him above all. Secondly you can also try Northridge fix another YouTuber that does laptop and electronics repair I have not had any experience with him but he is an excellent technician and is well versed in these type of repairs as well. Third you can reach out to Asus or go on eBay and try to find a replacement board and do the repair yourself this is assuming that the motherboard is completely dead and that it is incapable of being repaired this would just be a complete replacement applying PTM 7950 is not very difficult for the CPU and GPU and thermal grizzly putty for the vrms and memory is also easy and readily available on Amazon. I have a M16 as well and I sent it into Tony at Northwest repair he told me that the CPU was dead and that's when I made the decision to do the repair myself by ordering a replacement board these really are your main options at this point because if liquid metal has migrated under several components you will need specialized equipment as well as a microscope to identify and remove the leakage which is why most people switch from liquid metal to PTM because the performance is within one to 2% and you will not have a problem because it is non conductive

Crapicus

i would look into northwest repair or northrigefix both are amazing at that level of diagnostics. at least if asurion denies it
