I would try to paint a story around management considering tge lack of calibration to be low risk or something along those lines.

Also, you should use this chance to teach the owner the importance of calibration, even if he only understands it from the perspective of a checkbox to fill out to avoid losing the certification, whatever investment has been made towards it, and whatever clients are dependent on the certification.

Lastly, for the CA, you should include what you'll change to be proactive on getting things calibrated and maintaining the documentation.

It's hard to say without knowing more about the specifics for the service provided.

In general, I would say it is about services or materials used to provide the level of service that you are aiming for. Like if you were a masseuse then maybe you have an oil supplier or a clean towel towel service or a cleaning service.

But it also could be the lightbulbs, the music, the AC, or whatever else you define as the owner of the QMS along with relevant stakeholders as being important or critical to providing your service.

There are different ways to approach this. The most simple and practical one is to lower the OTD target to something that you can at least meet sometimes. Having at a point where it keeps triggering your system for failing to reach an unrealistic goal as of today is not particularly helpful. If you have never even hit 70, then maybe do 65 and once you consistently meeting target then move the goal post a little bit at a time.

You'll be meeting the requirement because you'll still be tracking it and it will continue to pop up as part of your reviews and so on.

As far as addressing the issue, the ideal option to move the needle is to push by correcting recurring issues and pulling by driving improvement opportunities.

Drive best practices according to the actions that get you closer to the goal. In general just take a holistic view at your business. Are the delays supply chain driven? Are they capacity issues in general or are there bottlenecks? Are your cycle times accurate and should you change your lead time? Do you just make a lot of mistakes and need to consider rework time as part of your cycle? Would it make sense to pause new orders to catch up and start measuring from scratch?

Why are you with this guy though? You are running everything on your own with no help from what you are saying. Would it not be easier just having to mind yourself and your daughter without the added stress of your husband and his ex?

Those were memories for her, but nightmares for your kid. She was selfish by thinking about her idea of fun not your son's. Point blank ask her if her pride is more important than a simple apology to her nephew or as a bare minimum to just let go.

Either way, if she wants to relive her childhood or make up for past regrets, she should do it during her birthday not your son's.

Sometimes instead of saying que pendejo, I have seen people say que pen...sador, to avoid cursing. So take that as you will.

The other thing is that people are weird, plain an simple.

I think you need to rethink how you are meeting the requirement and what you are presenting to the auditor.

The requirement is to carry out the meeting, present evidence of the meeting, the topics discussed, and any outputs derived from the meeting.

So what you could do is to complete the presentation as you have so far to drive the conversation and ensure you meet all the required talking points and have a second formal document where you record only the meeting minutes, meaning only the talking points and the outputs. This way you don't have to sanitize the presentation because of how it might look to the auditor, because you won't even need to show it.

For example, in the presentation you could go into detail about your nonconformances for the year, and in the minutes just put a line that estates that you reviewed an analysis of nonconformances and that there were no actions taken or that a CI action or a CAR was the output.

It's a kids modular dresser, they have different sized handles, so you need to drill the holes yourself depending on whatever handles you choose.

Cyead

Thank you mate!

I'm very tempted to go back to ikea next weekend. Just need a little push and my wife's permission.

Cyead

I did but I think she read the instructions backwards!

Although she is not 2 yet, so I'm giving her a pass.

Cyead

Thanks! The baby was supervising, so I kinda blame her.

Cyead

Yeah, I drilled the holes myself.

It's an ikea kids modular dresser, so you have different handle options and these were the bugges ones. I think that is the reason why they don't come prefab like the rest of the stuff they make.

I really like your idea of maybe switching top and middle, but I made the very bottom drawer centered, so idk, will consult with the wife.

Cyead

Yes.

Part of the irony is that part of my work is creating documentation, so I am typically pretty good at following directions. Idk what happened today.

Cyead

That's what my wife said whenever I asked her what she wanted me to do. Although, I still want to replace the top drawer some day in the far future.

Cyead

She truly is!

Cyead

Dang, I'll be out of town next weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to join the next one!

Cyead

Honestly, I would rather trash them than let her keep them if she is not going to pay you back.

Cyead

You don't care about communicating with my daughter, why would I ever worry or care about what you want to eat? Don't be selfish and disrespectful with my family and I will be kind to you, it is as simple as that. Anyhow, thank you for reminding me I did not invite you over, I'll see you whenever someone else decides to host!

Or something along those lines could be your response.

Every single system depends on people. So in the short and long term everyone is at the mercy of a spectrum of people from the leadership to the auditor.

If leadership just wants a piece of paper, then they'll just hide things, or fudge documentation and evidence. In the middle if the people doing the work don't understand the purpose of a structured system they will lie. And if auditors are just there for a paycheck, they won't provide a good assessment and identify important gaps, or provide advice.

Or in other words, you can have the best system in the world today, but if the people who maintain it leave and their replacements don't care to maintain it, then it will be gone very shortly and it also works the other way around but in a longer timeframe, just because it's easier to destroy than to build.

Cyead

The minimum system will cover all the "shalls" in the standard, like an internal audit program, management meeting, a customer satisfaction review system, noncomformity system, etc.

Beyond that, it really depends on the company. A small company still needs to document it's processes and set up goals/targets and expectations. The difference is typically more so about how detailed you get in the documentation. It also depends on the industry, if you don't make anything and only provide a service you might not need as much documentation.

As far as 6.1, it depends on the auditor, but usually as long as you can show that you are reviewing things periodically, like in your management review, or during CAPAs, you should be fine.

Cyead

Having one is not a requirement anymore, so as long as you are covering what you have in the QM elsewhere, you should be good to go.

Personally, I like to use it to cover most of clauses 4 and 5, as I find it awkward to include parts of them somewhere else sometimes.

At the end of the day, it's about what's best for your organization, so just keep that in mind and have a justification ready for the auditor. I would just discourage from saying because I know it or it's in my head because if you are ever gone, then the system doesn't work, and auditors don't like people dependent processes.
