Messi over Olise....Good lord
D1794
Form or not, Saudi or not, say Ronaldo in the last 20 years you think of 1 guy
D1794
You just got Kaned
D1794
I'd think the other way round. Considered the greatest, a phenomenon, and some lanky Portuguese lad with your name dominates football for 20 years with it

--------Lammens-----
-Dalot-Yoro-Martinez-Shaw-
---Baleba-Mainoo-Santos--
--Mbeumo-Sesko-Rashford--
I don't think Tielemans gets in if he's trying to replicate that midfield he had at Newcastle and he'd rather have a Santos just fouling people. Tbf Mainoo doesn't suit it either really but out of Mainoo-Tielemans-Bruno you pretty much have to have 1 of them.
Sesko and Shaw both being fit is borderline fantasy at this point though.

You're right, we only get the bad. We invite the pressure, give teams the mentality that they absolutely can get at us, and we don't see any benefit whatsoever that would make a team just slightly sit back for fear of being played through.
Our 6 will drop to collect the ball and have nowhere to go. The ball doesn't go past the halfway line.
There's just no repetition of way of playing. It's build out for a bit, fuck, it's not working! Hoof & lose possession. Force it out wide for a bit, can't cross cause there's no fucker there, or Mbeumo versus 5 men. Overlaps are fucking useless cause our fullbacks can't attack.
No semblance of anything. Trying to do something and failing i'd honestly accept. If we were trying to play out and got caught 3 times, but it worked on others, i'd at fucking least understand why we're doing it.
D1794
They own 70%+ of the club still
If they didn't want to make 400 people redundant they could have stopped it
D1794
It's a good of a time as any if they do want out, yes. Doesn't really make sense for them beforehand.
No guarantee of that, of course.
D1794
Even if we strip back the politics, strip back the ownership debate...The way our squad has shaped up with injuries and just general play with Carrick and staff is head scratching at the absolute least.
We cannot build out from the back or escape a press, and whilst I think forcing it every single time often means suicide, it'd at least show me that THIS is what we want to do, we just need to perfect it. I remember watching other clubs starting with build up, and it 99/100 costs you multiple goals throughout the season. But once you get better, it's incredibly effective.
We try it, don't get anywhere it goes back to Lammens who hoofs it. It's reminiscent of Ten Hag with de Gea. And to compound matters, we don't have a big target man for these long balls, it's 5'9 Mbeumo who wins hardly any of them, we give the ball back, and we're defending, again.
Our wide play is an absolute disaster (our central play isn't much better) - Yoro just cannot play RB, he doesn't have an attacking bone in his body. Dalot is braindead on his correct side, never mind the left. The lack of LB isn't a point that needs revisiting though.
Our chance creation is just...completely nonexistent. There's no patterns. No partnerships. How many tap ins, shots from close range do we score, built from our own design? Mbeumo vs Leeds, actually a good goal. Cunha vs Sabah...i'm blanking.
Seemingly the focus in pre-season was controlling the ball and then most importantly, breaking lines. CBs firing balls into midfield, constant fizzed passes into tight spaces. Where the fuck has that gone?
Just so, so bad from the team & management. I get a no9 would be better than Mbeumo. I get that they won't have anticipated Shaw and Dorgu both long term injured just 12 games in. But we're just seeing absolutely nothing.
D1794
Correct, Feb next year could be big cause that's when they can do whatever.
D1794
Glazers yes. They can force a 100% sale, with INEOS having to sell their shares with no choice.
If they sell today, Sir Jim gets his 1.5b or whatever he paid back. After Feb if they decide to full-sale, Jim gets what he's given. We're not trading even close to the level needed for Jim to get his money back if it's after February.
D1794
IIRC they didn't sack Farioli at Nice, Ajax poached him cause they actually managed to find a good manager.
Despite that infamous collapse at Ajax to PSV he's a good coach - Now he's at Porto and fair to say doing alright.
D1794
Hahahahahahahahaha
Joel Glazer, the man who always does the honourable thing.
D1794
We're shit yes, but digging up articles from 2011, really?
D1794
I did a shit job of explaining.
They can force a full sale at a price of their choosing after Feb 2027. If pre-2027, they have to sell at a price or structured in such a way that gives Sir Jim all his money back.
Sir Jim bought at 33/share. Currently we're trading at like 20/share.
D1794
Yup, so probably waiting so they can do whatever the fuck they want (as per usual)
D1794
Lausanne up for sale. Nice up for sale.
They've been disastrous investments from INEOS, achieved absolutely nothing and only are a stain on their sporting adventures.
The clause that exists for the Glazers to force a full sale in February of 2027 is interesting, as sales of Lausanne and Nice would mean INEOS get to exit football completely without it being a financial disaster, despite failing spectacularly at it.
D1794
Lausanne and also Nice both up for sale.
Could actually be something in that 2027 clause for a full sale of United
D1794
If we pretended for 1 second they were competent, they'll hopefully be arranging the replacement to be in the door tomorrow when we have an empty midweek and want to avoid another interim situation.
Reality is they probably lost Julian Nagelsmann's phone number
D1794
Howe has he not been fired yet??
- Practising for August next year
D1794
We complain about that too tbf
D1794
All good
D1794
I'm surprised he's made it till lunch time.
D1794
Wrong. Ipswich spent the 8th most in the PL in the summer.
When people make those long lists of things the ownership has got wrong, keeping then sacking ten Hag, Ashworth, redundancies, pivoting to 343 Amorim etc
Today will be one of the things people talk about. Everyone in the fucking world expected him to be sacked and it'd be justified if not just a stain on them. To say absolutely nothing all day is outrageous.
