*YES* consult a doctor. I got shingles on my face a few years ago, took anti virals and large doses of vitamin D. Completely wiped it out in a week. IMO* they lie about the about of vitamin D you can safely take, but concerning a short time for treatment just get the highest dose. Did the trick in 8 days, got his advice on here on reddit years back and it worked. And yes the post with the advice got spammed with people saying "you're not a doctor". No shit. Whatever, the doctors were a complete lost cause for this and denied it was shingles - like no - I'm not waiting for this to creep down my face to my eyes.

David Cross is funny, I've seen him many times and he always delivers, he also does new material all the time (when he was touring and going up 20 years ago) but yeah, he wasn't a household name, he was in the alt comic scene with Zach Galifianakis, who is also legit funny.

I thought the same thing when I was a kid, also comedy has changed a lot in the last 20 years since everything is on recorded and posted 24/7, everything has become a business platform - not spontaneous art. Bankers are "comedians" now. And now shit isn't funny because people aren't real comedians, it's a cash/fame grab.

25 years ago in Hollywood I was implored to perfect a 20 minute stand up routine, I was guaranteed writing jobs and a lot of money. I'm not a stand up, zero desire to be George Carlton, so I declined, but looking back it's crazy how easy it would have been to game that system. People figured it out now. AI isn't going to help any of it. Stand up is over.

If my memory serves me, around the same time I was told to make a funny 20 Gabriel Union had done that exact same thing. She wasn't funny, but maybe better than Shab, saw her more than a few times in LA. She's not a comedian but it opened all the doors for acting and she's done quite well for herself. Another funny thing from that exact same time was Lauren Sanchez was a new hire at KTLA channel 9, not a comedian but dang she took that shitty midnight police chase "newscaster" slot and parlayed that into being a billionaire by proxy. It's all about networking at the after parties.
