Depends a lot on how much you can spend vs. how long you want to spend training.
Mahogany benches are 1m xp/hour and costs about 13 gp/xp, 10 hours and 130m to 99.
Teak benches are 600k xp/hour and cost 9 gp/xp, 16 hours and 90m to 99.
Mythical capes are 400k xp/hour and cost 6hp/xp, 25 hours and 60m to 99.
Mahogany Homes is only significantly cheaper with teak contracts (Mahogany is similar to mythical capes and slower) for around 200k xp/hour at 3 gp/xp, 50 hours and 30m to 99.
Roughly if you can make >7m/hour Mahogany benches is bis. Between that at 3m/hour go Teak benches. Otherwise do Mythical Cape stands. MH is worth it if you make <1m/hour, or want the clogs from there.

Mostly that it's not as bad as people say it is. Smithing a rune platebody at 99 is such a non-issue that people blow up into this whole discussion. It's used in the creation of mid-high level equipment already (Zombie axe, DFS, Godswords, Oathplate, sailing parts, etc.), reduces repair costs on degradable equipment, and allows you to process raw material drops into gp through alchables. A stat squish/realignment wouldn't be the end of the world, but a "rework" would probably involve significantly more changes. I don't see that happening without it taking a shit ton of time/effort, or if it's even possible to do with the current gear progression (and I wouldn't want to rebalance that as well).
As for mining, it's fine I guess.

Damn AI will taking our jobs!

Sailing charting spots, most of them are at sea but a few are on land. Using the spyglass on them will play a short cutscene and give you a one time sailing XP drop.

No, it's your PB glory, not cumulative.
Glory is not attained cumulatively; instead, it works on a personal best system. For example, to unlock the bank chest inside the Colosseum, you must earn 2,000 points as your personal best of the whole run.
DaMaestroable
It's not really something you grind out, you have to be able to get far enough to reach the glory threshold in one run. Probably wave 7ish for 8k glory, but it varies based on time/damage/modifiers.
I don't think it would be worth it unless you're really experienced with other late game PvM. It's a lot of mechanics and positioning that you'd need to learn, stuff like off ticking mobs and consistently flicking between them, plus low the DPS at your level makes the waves much harder since you can't reliably kill stuff ahead of reinforcements.
DaMaestroable
Honestly not really, getting progression feels better but you are just as stuck going for optimal progression as you are on a main grinding the best GP/hour and there's not much point going back to old content that you enjoy beyond clogs. If you're looking for a fresh experience it could be something to go for but it's not a "superior" one.

I've been finding some decent success (bouncing around MB2) with modest H-Zoroark with life orb in a hyper offense team. It hits some targets just hard enough with Shadow Ball to get surprise OHKOs and runs taunt to disrupt TR teams, or at least get a Hyper Voice or two off to make easy KOs for the rest of the team. It's very gimmicky though, relies a lot on getting some major momentum from the surprise factor and if that fails it usually falls short.
I do think a second form of speed control would help a ton. Tailwind on Staraptor could be good, I basically always use Whimsicott. Other than that I don't have much, maybe Fairy Feather on Sylveon and getting a bit of bulk on Raichu to live Life Orb Sucker Punch from Kingambit.

There's an island for rosewood trees with no banks, so teleporting to/from there is nice for banking. And Buccaneer's Haven has a couple spots for cannoning hellhounds/bloodvelds in multi, a bit of a pain to get there without a focus.
DaMaestroable
I mean the no melee barrows CA is at least as hard/annoying. These are pretty much just "do the punish mechanic during enrage".
DaMaestroable
I'd boost enough to block black demons and metal dragons, then just turael skip any other bad task like Blue Dragons, Greater demons (if no WGS), Elves, etc. If you're a mian, focus on cannonable tasks like Hellhounds, Bloodveld, Kalphites, Dagganoth. If iron then just melee any low defence task that comes up. Slayer helm probably isn't worth boosting the points for yet, just stick to a black mask.

In addition to Sae Bae and more recently Gnomonkey, it's been a think on Classic WoW. Pretty popular there, but kinda requires a specific context of separate worlds to make "achievements" feel more real.

This did feel way too "my favorite content creator did this so now I want to too!". Like I don't think most people would be interested in something like Nightmare mode. The communities that stick to these ideas are pretty niche, it doesn't feel like they really require official game modes that people feel "locked" into.
DaMaestroable
Kind of reminds me of the "easy mode in dark souls" argument. Just slapping in a mode isn't what companies can do. It becomes a requirement to support and balance, which affects how you can design the game. You'll end up stepping on the toes of one game mode to appease another. Especially in the context of how many game modes they were polling, it becomes a nightmare. Keeping it as an unofficial gamemode with a robust plugin is the best way forward, imo.

I think the reason why Bronzeman mode had the pushback it did was that it did require more than one question. Ironman is simple, no trading or using the GE. UIM adds no banking. Yes, there are some additional mechanics about shops, deathbanking, and damaged enemies, but those are very secondary to the core idea of those modes.
Bronzeman gets unlocks, you can only buy/sell items you obtain yourself first. There's already a conversation about what should constitute an unlock. Do you have to make the item, or just get it as a drop? Should one oathplate shard or crystal armor seed unlock the full set? I'm not saying that it is confusing, but that it represents a lot of current edge cases that will become a massive headache in the future when designing and balancing content. One stamina drop from a low level boss now unlocks them earlier for Bronzemen, is that acceptable? Anti-venoms are hard locked behind 87 herblore, should there be a workaround for bronzemen? Should a new armor set have unique or repeated components? Once you add Bronzeman, it becomes a supported gamemode, and the design of the game has to factor it in.

Someone did tailwind (whimsicott) + explosion (metagross) against a protected whimsicott and disguised zoroark. Part of an intentional strategy to set up mega heracross storm throw and Anger Point tauros with tailwind, but funny to see explosion knock out both their pokemon while not touching mine.
DaMaestroable
Around 12 hours then, assuming 8 points per game and 7.5 games/hour.
DaMaestroable
Blocks at least. Skips maybe keep one on hand in case you get some really bad tasks+modifiers. As long as it isn't hydras/venators it shouldn't take long to knock out most tasks, barring +kc modifiers. You also get slayer points on occasion for doing easy tasks, just enough to skip a task rarely.
DaMaestroable
Depends on your level and if you're doing mass or small teams. Low level with masses likely would be a little less than 20 hours. Higher levels could do it in 10-12 in masses, probably under 10 in small teams.

Fight pits exist, sometimes Jmods have hosted events in it but otherwise completely dead outside of a few people getting a diary done.
Good armor usually has high strength bonus or accuracy boosts, maybe prayer bonus if you're doing slayer. Defense is usually secondary unless you're doing specific content like Moons of Peril or Inferno, or doing PvP. Most mid-game armor sets don't give many bonuses so they're only worth it if they're very cheap compared to other upgrades. Oathplate/Torva, Masori, and Ancestral are all the BiS armor sets atm, pricey though. Bloodmoon/Ahrim's/Blessed D'hide are good budget options.
Cbow is fine, just kind of expensive to upkeep and lackluster compared to other dps ranged upgrades available now, mostly Toxic Blowpipe and Bowfa. Dbow is a spec weapon for ranged pures, that's pretty much it.
DDS is more a budget option. Can hit high but the chance of doing so is pretty small. Gmauls are decent on pures but also suffers from accuracy issues. Best spec weapons are Dclaws or Voidwaker, AGS is a weaker option. They should only be used when you know what you're doing though, due to how much you can lose.

But the loop of trading constantly for things you need like mains nowaday
Yes. They. Were. That's my entire point. People were 100% doing skilling and PvM grinds, getting drops and resources, and selling for money that they were using to buy gear, other skilling resources, and supplies. Having to trade physically added some friction that you had to take into account, but "thinking in terms of GP/hour" was the way the majority of people played back then, just like today.
DaMaestroable
The big things that people mention about ironmen were very much still bypassed by GP and trading. People wouldn't gather their own lobster to cook, they'd buy them. They wouldn't get 85 slayer to buy a whip, they'd just buy one. I myself remember running law runes for 10 hours to get the GP for it. Yeah the GE definitely changed the scale of the operation but it's still the same core get GP -> buy items gameplay that is loads closer to todays mains than ironmen.
DaMaestroable
Lol no, GPscape was definitely a thing back then. Bulk skilling supplies and gear was traded all the time. Yeah the random crap like quest items and niche skilling items you couldn't buy but herbs, ores, fish, logs, and high end gear were pretty much always available, and you would pretty much always do some moneymaker to buy those supplies/gear.
DaMaestroable
Mostly skill training supplies. Part of the appeal of Bronzeman (not me personally) is the ability to still train supply-heavy skills like Prayer, Herblore, Construction, etc. like a main. Outside of maybe the bowfa grind if you go dry I doubt you'd have enough raw GP to fund most of that.
Just worse atm, unless you're willing to pay out the ass for a tiny bit of AFK time. During the sailing launch they were good but the prices have plummeted, now they're all more expensive and slower from a purely Construction training standpoint.
