It's because you cannot see the enemy properly at range. Map smoke, screen shake, high TTK means longer gunfights and more flinch, weapon bounce and sight movement all make long range kills a nightmare. Not to mention you sometimes have to hit someone with 7 plus bullets at range to get a kill, so with all that combined, one enemy will require a whole mag.

Disabling cross play wouldn't do anything. The vast majority of PC players I am seeing are on controller now.

Have you tried getting a friend to invite you to a DMZ lobby or something to see if it lets you in then? I wonder if there are any ways to launch DMZ with a new operator or one of your others from a menu in multiplayer? I'd dig around the menus to see if you can find and try anything that you can use as a work around.

This is the first CoD in years where parties are not spamming CUAVs all game every game. I know it should not be like this, but I am kind of glad lol.

Damn, I was dropping blueprints I already had... I have probably found the drill charge blueprint 5 times now

This is more down to netcode than an actual hitbox issues. The issue with the dummies is a separate issue with the same symptoms. The hitreg and desync in online matches usually is like this on a CoD release and almost always gets better as player numbers stabilise to a more typical baseline. This complaint comes in every year.

I did the same for BO7. My mouse sensor started dying so whilst waiting for my new one to be delivered, I had to use a controller for the first time in 7 years since moving to PC. In a few games I was already doing as well as I would on Mouse and Key. I shouldn't be able to do that.

The dummies are just bugged. There are multiple zones in it that do not seem to have a hitbox. It was like it in the beta too. This is not the same as the player hitbox.

It took 3 - 4 shots to kill with an M4 in MW2019 and pretty much every Modern Warfare before it. Now it takes 5 - 6. Hardcore it takes 1 shot. If you think 3 - 4 shots to kill feels like hardcore, then you are blindly running into fire without being ready and then are wondering why you are being melted by someone who was prepared for a gunfight.

You're able to get a pretty consistent 3 shot kill with the M4 on MW2019. On MW4 it's mostly 5 shots and can reach up into the 6 shot range. That is absolutely crazy to me.

The TTK during weekend one was in the middle of MW2019 and MWIII. Only if you mixed in headshots would it be comparable to MW2019. Now it is basically the same as MWIII if not longer as the DLC guns slowly brought that down over time. It should have been kept as IW style TTK like in MW2019 and MWII because now we have no major variety for how the game feels each year. I was looking forward to going back to Infinity Ward TTK after years of using pea shooters in MWIII, BO6 and 7.

The biggest issue I have with it is the TTK. If it had classic IW TTK I would enjoy it a lot more. It just takes way too long to kill people.
Dank_Edits
It's because idiots kept crying that they died instantly and immediately just assumed the issue was the TTK when it wasn't. It's the netcode that makes it feel like you die in 2 - 3 shots. And now here we are, having to sink 6 bullets into the enemy whilst it still feels like you die just as fast as before.
IW made a change based on player feedback which incorrectly identified the reason for dying so fast. I have had times where it took 9 shots to kill with my MP7... Thats ridiculous. Looking back at MW2019 gameplay makes me realise how much better shooting actually felt without inflated TTK
Dank_Edits
Yes, you die instantly because the netcode sucks. Meanwhile, you cannot kill enemies nearly as quick. People like you mistaking bad netcode and fast time to die as a TTK issue is why we are in this boat in the first place. Increasing the TTK only emphasised this problem and now it's significantly more noticeable. Your solution has only highlighted the problem further because now you have to sink 5 to 6 shots into the enemy when they seemingly only have to hit you with 2 - 3.

As a M&KB player. You get extremely punished for even missing one shot in this game. It is not easy to always land 5 to 6 consecutive shots into an enemy who is jumping around and sliding.
We are only in this position because the netcode is so bad that it feels like you die instantly, so people mistook that for a TTK issue and pushed IW to increase the TTK even further. Weekend one Beta was already higher TTK than what IW usually do, so the increase even further was unnecessary in my opinion. Funny thing is, after increasing the TTK, it still feels like you die just as fast but now it takes longer to kill from your perspective. It only emphasised the issue.

It's a bug that shows the wrong player during the POTG. Notice the player in the showcase animation at the beginning is a different player to the one actually being shown in the highlight. So it shows another player during that same moment the actual intended play is happening elsewhere.

The big issue for me is the risk Vs reward. I don't think it makes sense to use anything other than a base operator and free loadouts because otherwise you stand to lose significantly more in one match than you can gain in 5 or more. It actively discourages progression. And when every game for me feels like a Warzone lobby where PVP is the main focus, why in my right mind would I want to use my high level operator when I have a very good chance of losing it every game?
Dank_Edits
I play Solo and I am running into multiple people every game. I don't remember the last game I played where I did not encounter someone. Every exfil I go too feels like a warzone lobby.

For one, I utilise the movement and I do good with it, so no, this is not me complaining because I can't compete. The point I am making which your comment ironically backs up is that it is a crutch. If you have to movement spam to "shit on players", then it is a crutch. If you're not doing it, you don't do well. It's as simple as that.
Another layer of irony is these players who cry when they get a cod game where they cannot just spam movement usually say, "you're just bad" when anyone says the movement spam is annoying. But hold on, they are saying I am bad, when I can do good in both movement heavy and non-movement heavy CoD games, yet they can only do good when they are able to spam movement and break cameras. That proves to me that their only skill is to break cameras, because whenever they get a game where they have true run and gun, they cannot keep up as it uncovers where they are lacking, and that is map control, decision making, map awareness, and more.
If utilising one mechanic means you can basically neglect all of the other skills that otherwise would have been important if they couldn't do it, then it is a crutch.

It's insanely bad every game. Shoot first die first despite not missing a shot and using the exact same gun as the enemy. And I am averaging 10 ping...
Dank_Edits
How would that help when it looks like 70% or more of PC players are also using controller at this point?
Dank_Edits
I think everything costs way too much. It literally takes hours to rack up enough cash to recover a high ranked operator, only for it to take one game to die again. Rinse and repeat. Pair that with how much everything costs to upgrade such as weapons, playing usually ends up in you losing more than you earn unless you just use free loadouts and a basic operator. But at that point, what is the point of ranking up my main operator if it is not worth using them due to the high risk relative to the low reward of each match. That makes the operator progression system worthless, and forces people to use basic loadouts and throwaway operators the majority of the time just because you are throwing money away if you don't.

Had it happen today. I thought my internet went out, but tests showed it was fine. Had to restart the game to allow me to reconnect to the servers.
I literally run a constant 8 - 10 Ping and 0% packet loss... But sure, it's my internet lol
