It’s hilarious how Duggan has confounded this sub. For years posters would comment all the wonderful things he’s done as mayor to turn around the city. From blight removal to helping the city gain financial stability and independence, Duggan certainly did some great things for Detroit. But now that’s he’s running for governor (just running! like so many do) he’s all of a sudden a shill for republicans. I never saw anyone feign outrage when he was getting Republican money as a mayoral candidate (which he certainly did). I just sit back and read all the internet rage and giggle. As for me I like the thought of Duggan being governor. A former Detroit mayor sitting as our state governor would be immensely beneficial for Detroit. I also like Benson but am very interested in moving past our broken two party system. Tbh I’m disappointed in what little Whitmer did to improve our state. She didn’t reverse our population decline. She didn’t improve or help diversity our economy. Her office has been the opposite of transparent for 8 years. The poverty rate of our state has gone up. So I’m very willing to let someone outside of the two parties to give this a go. I’m happy to see Republicans and Democrats mad and held back from absolute power.

I think this weekend is the last to view the Van Gogh exhibit at the DIA. Both museums are incredible and you can’t go wrong with either, but that special exhibit of Van Gogh was a great memorable experience, so that’s what I’d recommend.
