So we agree? AI code is equally bad as AI art?
Or is art valued more than code. And if so.
If AI code (assisted or fully) is OK, why wouldn't doing the "art" examples above with AI be fine?
Deadhound
Why is it a false equivalence?
Deadhound
I'm really tempted to pick up some yellows and white.
Especially since I am not US/UK/EU, so same with Pro Acryl it is a lot more expensive than tone pro
Deadhound
I didn't even finish it. I got bored during it. Whole movement and action felt slow, tedious and so much worse than indie deadzone rogue.
Sure looked amazing tho
Deadhound
Yup, and this round it is Circana inventing numbers
Equally trusting as Alinea. Unless for some magical reason one market analysis firm is more trusted...
Deadhound
This is all predicted data, no actual facts or data. It's not numbers from Sony, it is a market analysis firm.
And Eurogamers are being extremely disingenuous with their article, not insertinf the most crucial part, which was in the gamer biz article on it. That being it is projected numbers. Not hard numbers
projected top 10 best-selling games from the period of August 30 to October 3, 2026, data courtesy of Circana:
Deadhound
Well... Would be interesting if it actually was sales, and not a " projected top 10", which is in the last line before the table
Deadhound
True, lmao. It literally says "PROJECTED TOP 10"
And some (all?) are purely digital games, thus you'd be reliant on Sony and/or devs to publisb the actual numbers.
It actually makes less sense. They are probably basing it on Sonys own blogpost about top downloads. BUT that doesn't mention amount or sales
And NBA is downloaded less than EAFC
Also, how is blood of dawn Walker, onimusha and fire emblem abive Halloween? When it PS download list Halloween is 4th place....
That list is weird. Wardogs not on playstations list at all, but it released 10 sept. Curious, will it come up in october numbers?

Wasn't it almost worse
The devs for Anthem were "oh, so this is what we'll be making?"
And given how internal stuff was for Anthem (per the Schreier post mortem), anything internal could've changed multiple times
Deadhound
But there is multiple threads xomplaining about AI in AAA games. Don't lie?
It's just 2 fold one. Most people actually don't care. And most people buy the big games (and a .5 of you can't bully a 1000 man studio vs a single dev)
F ex CoD have had multiple threads complaining about AI art https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1owxnoi/call_of_duty_black_ops_7_is_littered_with_ai_art/

Similar for me. I played the pre-rel demo, and the leveling combined with the always online made me not buy it.
Same for The Crew 2. While the first one was a technically always online. I didn't see the others, with crew2 I saw other cars all the time and refunded within a few minutes after the tutorial
Deadhound
They did flip-flop the flying/non-flying before the demo they showed Patrick. So wasn't out of the blue
Basically first demo was boring and uninteresting. Some stuff happened, and new demo included flying which he really liked
Deadhound
Funny it is Kotaku, and not one of the other rags.
Given it was Kotaku that published the massive Jason Schreier Anthem post-mortem too lmao
In which it showed that EA was incredbily hands-off, and Bioware basically sat on their ass not deciding wether to fly or not for years
Deadhound
Ok, but AI coding is based on the same "training" process as art
Deadhound
You had thay whole debacle with r/art banning a painting on AI accusation, artist showed all the layers and process. Mod still malded about it
Deadhound
But coding is fine to get rid of?
Deadhound
Just hypocrisy.
What is the art in box nr 5, or tree nr 50 (not like a lot of trees have been auto-generated for some time before AI), or generic walk animation?
Deadhound
You can put battle pass on valve for sure, not loot boxes. Well can at least do it partially, but they weren't first
EA had it in FIFA 09 (and 10) before TF2 had it.
You've had EA employees selling lootbox shit on the side, and even a EA FC coin farm on playstations
Direct reason why it was lootboxes in ME3
Deadhound
EA was first and popularized loot boxes in the west though
FIFA 09 was first major game in the west (and before anything Valve had)
Direct reason why ME3 had it f ex.

It's a notepad in the steam overlay
It is persistent, per game
You can pin it and have it shown on screen with a choosen transparancy
So can use it as notetaking or for remember what you've done
Deadhound
Peristent notes, which you can choose to pin to the overlay, and see constantly on screen (with self-chosen transparancy)
It is very nice. Used it for escape room sim, with the pin
And the persistent. I am using for Spell Brigade, to note down combos used for achivment
Those notes are sooo nice, when you occasionally use em
Deadhound
No you didn't. You showed part of the sales was due to hype. The intial 13 mill (of 25m+) can be attributed to hype. Is the sales street 2 weeks still hype sales?
The 15m DLC sales is certainly not hype. That's 3y after the game released, are you going to call that hype?
Witcher 3 has sold over 65 million copies without DRM too...
Deadhound
How? Steam doesn't force DRMs
Inb4 steam is DRM
It is not enforced, and a choice by the publisher/dev https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_big_list_of_DRM-free_games_on_Steam
Deadhound
And the 15 million DLC sales, that was 3 years post release was due to hype?
And the remaining 12 millions after those 2 weeks?
Then it is great, we agree :)
