The keyword here is "plasticity".

Basically, brains are very functionally malleable. If you lose a piece of your brain in an accident, the other parts take over and compensate for that lost function as needed.

Consider the fact that we have our eyes shut for about one third of our life. This also means that our visual cortical part of the brain wouldn't be utilized for about one third of our life.

The theory is that, to prevent other functions taking over the visual cortex during these times due to the nature of plasticity, our brain has adapted to dream in order to keep it running even when we have our eyes closed.

It doesn't explain everything, but it's still a very interesting theory.

Remember, we've been told multiple times that there are LCBs in other mirror worlds/timeline branches that have "failed" their mission. We're only playing the one out of near-infinite versions of ourselves that is going to ultimately succeed (or fail and survive, who knows). I think this is 'essentially' different from plot armor, because we can and do fail, just not in the world we're in right now.

I don't know what you're specifically looking for in "realistic lava", but Complementary Shaders with Euphoria Patches have different rendering options for lava that you might like. Maybe start from there?

That's not the incoherence I'm talking about? Those are straight up hallucinations. I'm talking about the errors where the sentences are grammatically correct, but those individual sentences don't work together. Current gen LLMs ironed out most of that.

I only wrote this so that you won't falsely accuse other people of using AI, based on the things that AIs don't do anymore as much as before. It's important to properly distinguish what's AI and what's not in this day and age.
