It's only "a little" similar (the focus is different, but there is an influence of the gods at play >< what they see as certain kind of progress), but imideatly made mr think of...

Major spoiler for a crpg game (unfortunately can't recommend without spoiling, trying to keep it vague, because it's a sick series (with heavy focus on world building and interestingly enough on thr factions, cultures etc more than individual characters not that that are wad neglected either).

Not a new game, but still a spoiler warning. Pillars of Eternity

Besides that, interesting concept. Is there a core reason for why it became viewed as hereti- Edit:imagine reading all the comments first before asking. Lol. I do like the "fake" gods Lords situation with some form of stunted feudalism at play.

Depressedduke

I really like the twisted, incorrectly healed bone in the left arm. Interesting detail.

Depressedduke

I'm kind of curious, if you start with a free golem what motivation one would have to willingly join the tempelars or under what conditions it would do so unwillingly.

Probably after a blight, especially if also a special case with some of the memories or understanding of how it was created... Eh. Curious what kind of direction it can be taken in. Plus how tempelars and mages would treat it(and in what ways that would be different than other tempelars. F.e. it not being addicted amd slowly rotting away from consuming lyrium may cause some hard feelings among the red boys, etc).

Good one.

I rece- realising it has been month, for shame, uhm... started embroidering an inquisition tarot card (rogue qunari one) for something. Haven't finished it yet though unfortunately.

Didn't know darkspawn had lumberjac-

Depressedduke

I feel like something similar has happened (debatable) to the eldar in warhammer. But that's neither here nor there.

I do think it'd be cool if there was "more range" to how different qunari can look. With there maybe being factors which would come in play (parents appearance, the eugenical breeding rules they apply, "dragon blood",...), but that's supposedly where they were going towards in Inquisition, ig, with range of appearances. I do think it's a shame that we only had very "human"(and human beauty standard adjecent) looking qunari women in Inquisition >< men. But eh.

Da2 design is also my favourite. It goes against canon, but there's a appearance mod for Sten someone made years ago, giving him that look with horns... Love that one, whoever made it did a good job.

Depressedduke

I don't want to disagree, but I do kind of like the hornless qunari thing. With there being not so much visible distinction between them and human and yet them being treated so differently, seen as this import-

But I do also kinda get your point. I do wish that it was further elaborated or even better shown (imagine) how the society treats people under qun.

Depressedduke

As always, not wearing glasses and at first I assumed that the string/rope Anders was holding was actually blood flowing from his right hand, in some kind of ironic twist.

The cards came out quite well, good job!

A bit curious, the dots in the last one, are those "just" windows or actually sparks/fireflies/...? I think it's something else, obviously, but cool that it kind of looks like lit up ominous windows.

Depressedduke

Didn't see the sub I was in and it reminded me of them as well. Even though they have long bodies normally.

Actually didn't realise it was a guinea pig, have never seen one without fur before.

Depressedduke

Hope you'll have fun painting it)))

Have no experience with models this huge, but there's going to be a loooot of room to add highlights and tiny skin details.

Depressedduke

I hate those so so so much.

Green deed an absolutely great job with that model! The dynamic posing on the tentacles, the little details,... Ugh. Horrible(in a good way).

I had been curious for quite a bit if I'd ever see a follow up post after you originally asked about it on the sub(or maybe it was coincidentally someone else).

Also, any chance you got some putty laying around? May be easier to use that instead of green stuff on some of the smaller cracks.

Depressedduke

For me personally the most devastating part is the addition to EA's greedy pile of rotting promising franchises that it'll continue to sit on. Trully a shame.

Especially since we won't be able to even get any ttrpg related stuff, which could have been in forseen future otherwise, even if not video games or books... Eh. Dang.

I do still see it as a loss(beyond people again just clowning on DAV), the potential the franchise still had. Oh well. I do hope to see some of the developers and writers pop up in some future projects again.

To keep everyone's annoyance going, which one of The Thing movies are we talking abou-

Depressedduke

Love how enthusiastic you are about it, but the post description did make me giggle, lol.

Hope you'll figure it out! I have no clue how to work with Frosty, last time I had ambitions to understand it... I gave up.

Depressedduke

Sometimes I feel like something eats my memories (jokey but also not), but... Am I imagining that ones health played into it as well?

Now that I think about it, I can't remember an example, but if someone sickly (not just ill or affected by exposure to darkspawn) would be "lucky" enough to survive the joining, it'd probably affect them faster. Not more, but the toll would be felt heavier sooner.

Probably need to reread stuff too. Because now I start to doubt if it's ever mentioned if age plays a big part in it or if it's all relatively meaningless to unavoidable(mostly) end.

Depressedduke

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who hates the boss fight with Corypheus. /hj

Depressedduke

I like the combination of graffiti/street art-like style over the gory parts, the switch in artistic medium(?) within the same work is a cool idea to play around with.

Depressedduke

Now someone needs to commit to the bit and grace you specifically(and the reast of us as an added benefit) with a highly satirised post with that as title.

I try so hard not to get annoying about vampires/upirs/dhampirs and werewolfs/lycans/volkudlaks... But it's stronger than me.

Sometimes I genuinely wish some mythological creatures/... didn't make it into the mainstream because whatever result we end up with is often way less interesting/cool than the "original" (there is no one original most of the time, since there can be similar legends unrelated to each other).

At the same time, even if there is so little easily obtainable information/good sources, it's kind of cool to be able to see how(not always when) certain new attributes get added or removed from a myth/...

Like not only pregnancy, but weither a "vampire" is dead/undead to begin with. Forgot in which region, but I think there was a point when local vampire adjecent creature was seen as both possibly alive or dead. Either someone who killed themselves and held malice towards others (dead > drinks blood out of hatred) or something related to interference of an "evil spirit" and a child being born that way due to it (alive).

But there are so many different alive/undead bloodsucking creatures. Some that transform into animals(not only bats, but also cats or sickly odd looking creatures similar to dogs) or take on a shape of children (either actually looking like children or distorted versions of them),... With again, the recurring alive><dead thing. And not all had any mention of sun, night,... amd many other "typical" signature features of the modern "European" vampire.

Christianity amd its influence/prejudices had started the change in some areas towards a more familiar view on vamps. Including blood/... used to "turn" (in some cases not even vampire blood).

Kind of crazy how much information is lost, but still known (there are people still actively studying it).

Depressedduke

[...] is not a creative colour!

Had to jump in on the bit, but op, I think they're both disturbing and cute at the same time. I really like the toast one, that one almost looks "curious/delighted" at the sight of a part of itself, either mesmerised by the repetitive movement, following it crosseyedly or hungering for a taste of cheese.

Glad you finished em)) As another artist collecting the A's... It is damn hard to actually drag a project trough the finishing line sometimes.

Depressedduke

If you have the time and can think of any... Any idea how one can learn more about the "structural" aspect of making the armature/the shape underneath/supports for a (bigger) model?

I've noticed that it was a struggle for me, specifically, but also hard to even find any video's showing how people do that for bigger models (unless they used copper wire). Learning form mistakes works, but is also kind of a waste of time sometimes.

Not an issue of visualising necessarily, but... Good that I'm not an architect, let's put it that way.

Depressedduke

I need you to sign papers as proof of you saying that Zevran looked great in 2. Real quick. /hj

Depressedduke

Yeah...

I don't want to start the same conversation that has been repeating for years, but... op is killing me, lol.

"Treatment" of tranquil, how unprepared mages are for their harrowing(which makes it simpler to excuse killing them or tranquilising them AND keep their ammount lower to make the job easier), tempting mages with forbidden knowledge to turn them tranquil if they give in to something which may improve their situation, not being allowed to "keep" your children, forced proximity, constant supervision, never allowed outside,... Ferelden circles surely are fine amd that has no effect on mental stability of people, which is totally unrelated to preventable risks.

Depressedduke

Close enough. Welcome back, Devilman Crybaby. /j

Also, ngl, op, this looks sick, but madr me think of Mesa more than Oberon. Kind of follows the "thematic" vibe of hers a bit more.
