Nah, the worst part is bloom. On gamepad it is HEAVILY nerfed because it re-centers it's internal crosshair (there are two crosshairs - the one that really is aiming, internal one; and the one that is drawn on the interface - for everyone who says that it's false, you can look it up in Unreal Engine, it is how it is done for many many years) on the target with each shot (and the gun has insanely fast shooting speed), while on PC you just have to be lucky.

It's actually not that hard to create portal borders from one part of the world to the other. It doesn't eat more space. Just look at how games like Vangers did that - it is still 3D and made with voxel like structure. World in Vangers is just a giant moebius strip (though it is more like a ring) where you can ride from one side of the strip to the other.

It's just not really practical to do in the games because they are either very small (i.e. you can easily see the other side of the world) or it will not make sense lore wise (like in GTA 5 or Skyrim). Genshin Impact is probably one of the best examples where developers can make it a globe, like Outer Wilds did (it is on a smaller side, but it makes sense in the lore of the world).
