From my play sessions, it's more like the game punishes chaos and panic. If you somehow manage to stay calm, you end up doing a lot better.

However, the game itself makes it harder to stay calm (not that it's a "bad" chaos, but staying calm as in...the way you pick your targets off and move really helps).

Not that you can always remain calm, but the more controlled you manage to be, the better!

DigitalVortexEnt

That it will!

But, it's not as chaotic as it seems, the balance comes from the targets having a pretty generous hitbox, well more like the model size is larger. As long as you don't go insane with the "spray and pray" style combat, you should be ok, at least at first.

We've played this quite a bit to test it out and if you can control yourself and remain calm (which is harder than it sounds), you can do quite well.

DO NOT MISS is a fast-paced arena FPS with a pretty unforgiving twist: every missed shot adds another enemy to the next wave.

Grab weapons, experiment with upgrades, and try to survive the chaos you create yourself.

Our open playtest is live until November 9, and we'd love for you to check it out and you can also invite up to 3 friends through Steam.

Would this mechanic make you aim more carefully, or would you still go full spray-and-pray?

So a bit of an update!

Dreadmoor is launching in Early Access on the 9th of November.

But, for those that want to know what the game is like, the demo is still playable, so you can get a good feel for it for yourself first!

DigitalVortexEnt

Where you able to try out the demo?

DigitalVortexEnt

The demo is playable now, so it would be great to know if you enjoy the game!

The issue was not that people thought we were using AI, it was that the game was announced using pre-rendered scenes. Looking back, it wasn't the best decision we made, but since then, the entire team has been focused on developing the game, running many playtests and optimizing it as best we can.

That leads us to the latest stage, where we've got a public demo that anyone can play to see what we're making. It's not the full game (we've got work to do), but it's a good representation of what we're working on!

DigitalVortexEnt

There is nothing in the game or on Steam that is AI generated...

DigitalVortexEnt

Something for the future, as long as the main game launch goes well, this is something that we can look into!

DigitalVortexEnt

If the main game launch goes well, then a console port is something we can look into!

But, if so, it will be for the future.

DigitalVortexEnt

How has the demo been for you?

DigitalVortexEnt

Thanks for helping out!

It seems that it might be useful if we added some icons/markers to the game to help people find these!

DigitalVortexEnt

Feedback like this is exactly why we're running a playtest, what you said is something that we might have somewhat overlooked a bit.

So, thank you, we'll look what we can do!

DigitalVortexEnt

There is a speed controller in-game, so what you see is in-game speed, but with the combat speed set to 4x (we updated the UI recently to make changing easier as it was hidden away a bit too much at first). So, this is the "ingame speed", but it can be slower, depending on player choice.

We've opened the playtest for I Am Plague, our dark incremental roguelite/dungeon crawler.

You begin deep beneath a capital and have one objective, to reach the surface.

However, standing between you and the surface is an enormous fortress filled with soldiers, priests, alchemists, monsters and more! Your journey to the top will not be easy. Combat is automatic, and progression revolves around choosing mutations, building synergies, upgrading the swarm, and deciding which route to take through the fortress.

Death sends you back to the lair, but the resources you've collected permanently strengthen the horde for the next ascent.

The playtest is available until October 19: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5131690/I_am_Plague

The I Am Plague Playtest is now live!

Combat itself is automatic, but the outcome depends heavily on how you build the horde.

As you climb the fortress, you will need to choose mutations, improve stats, stack copies of the same mutation, and combine different effects into synergies.

When the horde eventually dies, resources earned during the run go toward permanent upgrades and unlocking more mutations.

The playtest runs until October 19: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5131690/I_am_Plague

Awesome, thanks for trying it out on the deck, and, great to know you enjoyed it!

I've gotta ask, what build are you going for?

DigitalVortexEnt

Hope you'll enjoy it!

DigitalVortexEnt

All hail to the Rat King(s)!

We shall slowly take over!

DigitalVortexEnt

That's only because I had to convert a short video into a GIF, and to make it not...really big (file size), I had to limit it to 20 frames per second, and do a bit of compression on it. (This subreddit doesn't let me upload videos). It came out pretty nicely still, but don't worry the game itself is not choppy!

It should run smoothly on pretty much any hardware.
