More than anyone else, I would personally cite Simon & Garfunkel.

Crosby/Stills/Nash/Young were a classic group and a likely influence on GB. I'd recommend Deja Vu. The Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Iron & Wine and Joni Mitchell are also essential listening for GB fans.

In terms of similarity as far as "colour" and psychedelia, contemporary duo Dumbo Gets Mad is a real treat, as are Glass Animals, Dr. Dog and Animal Collective.

Alexander of The Magnetic Zeroes has a great solo album of off-kilter folk. American Babies is a small-time yet wonderful folk/rock/country blend.

Aoife O'Donovan, Bjork, Hiatus Kaiyote, Charles Mingus, and Jethro Tull also come recommended.

Gorgeous cover and name, if this turns out to be the case.

Better hope the pressing turns out good, otherwise you will be immortalized as scratchy discordance

20, Film major from PA. I intend to grow my career roots as a professional editor and work my way into screenwriting, directing, and producing. Some of my favourites are Evil Dead 2, Pan's Labyrinth, The Thing, and 2001. I really aim for indie auteur ambitions with uncompromised weirdness, and Grizzly Bear is partly to thank for reaffirming my hopes.

I also enjoy singing and songwriting, writing in general, occasional acting, and hanging out with cats and/or dogs while blazed. I have recently been loving Aqualung by Jethro Tull, I think a lot of you folks would appreciate the acoustics, production, and Ian Anderson's flute.

DoctorSpud

I would not be upset with further veering into Talk Talk territory.

DoctorSpud

I'm flagging this as irrelevant content; they clarified that the rehearsals were in fact with RAIDOHEAD, not Radiohead.

DoctorSpud

Just here doing the thing

DoctorSpud

"Full of Fire" by The Knife is like the extended, evil-incarnate version of Ful Stop.

DoctorSpud

"it takes so much effort to understand what is good about Radiohead that it’s impossible to have time to discover any new music"

I fucking lost it.

"He’s just a strange little British man who dances like a spider monkey" is pretty great too

Some of it is a little too easy tho

All context, friend. Brexit and the election really opened a lot of folks' eyes to an assortment of injustices.

DoctorSpud

Great Talk Talk choice!

DoctorSpud

lol, it wasn't though. It was first led by Syd Barrett.

Looking back on it doesn't Krennic say "You have to start somewhere", not "Is that so bad?" I'd say that helps make his application of the Death Star "ambiguous" at least in the fashion of him believing in the good of his work.

I personally would recommend AMSP as a starter album, followed by OK Computer and then further into whichever particular piece of their career intrigues you the most. I enjoy the thematic ties of autonomy from government, AI sentience, and alien invasion/colonisation found between AMSP and OK Computer, and feel that they are crucial to the band and make the various other dimensions, characters and subjects they tackle all the more revelatory.

St. Vincent is an underdogg

Grave of the Fireflies, Pan's Labyrinth and Inside Out.

DoctorSpud

I like your style.

I've gotten a natural high from just singing this song over and over on a car ride home. Was a great experience and makes it naturally one of my favourite RH songs.

DoctorSpud

That's some serious Under the Skin shit right there.

DoctorSpud

Wow, what an original thought. Definitely yours. Impressive.

DoctorSpud

Is this actually from release, or the beta?

DoctorSpud

Except that's not what he's been told from his childhood and not what he has believed to be the case his entire life. I don't know very much about him but seeing as he's someone who cares about racial issues either way, what does it matter?

Not to mention that you immediately jumped on the presumption that the claims and pictures posted on his Twitter are fake and made it grossly evident you have no idea what the fuck blackface is. Get out.

DoctorSpud

He's half black...?

Regardless of the legitimacy of some claims about his race, how exactly does it matter when it comes to concerns about racial justice? That's something any and all people should be behind, for fuck's sake.

DoctorSpud

This just in: hate crime is a bummer, but lying is a real outrage.
